Omg...yes. This needs to be done in the traditional way Flayra! Release the old airplane marine models, for Flaytona cannot go on without them!
I remember in the first Flaytona 500, I was running around (obviously loosing) and making airplane noises into the mike....those were the days people <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

A quick google and...
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> Around late January, the forums were totally revamped, which made reading up on the latest dev team decisions a lot easier. I really started to post a lot more, thanks to this improvement. In mid-February, the second version of Natural Selection's Tech Release, which allowed mappers to see how their maps would look in-game was released. This was not intended to be a "fun" release for the common NS player at all, but the dev team had no idea what would come. Shortly after the NSTR was given out, a mapper named Yamazaki made a hive room of his upcoming map, ns_penumbra, available to the public. Roughly 10 people, including myself, downloaded this map and connected to a server. After quite a while of stacking (exploiting Half-life's weird collision detection to have multiple people stand on top of each other), players turning their flashlights on and off repeatedly, and spray-painting the map excessively, someone got the idea that a race around the room should be held, since the hive room was roughly in the shape of a ring. This was done, and everyone who was on the server agreed that this was one of the funniest things ever experienced -- in part because the marine model was only partially animated at the time, so all marines had permanently outstretched arms, making them look like kids playing "airplane" in the backyard. This was the first "Flaytona", named in honor of Natural Selection's team leader and coder, Flayra. And it was decidedly not the last. At least four mappers created maps exclusively for Flaytona, including official mapper Merkaba, who reused parts of an earlier map to create Plant_race. Another mapper, named Greedo386, used the Benny Hill theme song as a soundtrack to his Flaytona map, which just left everyone who played the map laughing hysterically and completely unable to control their player. Thanks to Greedo's map, it basically became a requirement for every Flaytona map to have a soundtrack.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
sounds like fun <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I knew it was some kind of race! (Duh <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo--> )
There was going to be another Flaytona (never happened though afaik) where it was going to be a relay race between teams of skulks in the official maps. They couldn't touch the floors if I remember. Whatever happened to that?
That one was too much work, and had too many rules. This one is back to what it should be, stupid fun <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
And yes, the post was a month ago, but since RR.org has been down for a month due to the hack, everything was put on hold. More news shall be coming!
heh i was doing a competition for my website called the Gorge race.
its a map to race gorges. Probably one of the best maps ever made.
Has like gates like a horse race track, and i can open it with a button. Falling rocks when you jump on them, a vent system with gravity, and a train to spectate around the map.
the map evne had a finish line, that whne you crossed you teleported to this podium, 1st 2nd and 3rd. you guys want some screenies?
Well duh <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo--> How about the BSP?
