I heard from the grape vine that there was developement of a female marine skin currently underway. I was just wondering how that was coming if anyone knows. Not that I mind at all if I am a male marine as long as I can play the game, I was just curious thats all. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif' />

I hope there isn't....everyone in the game would just stand around watching the fe-marines run around. You'd see gorges fall over and die from heart attacks! (It would be a good marine strat to do that, though.....so long as you could keep it from happening to the better-bellied of your own team) <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' />

The above was a joke. Take it as such. I'm also curious, I haven't heard anything about it, but it would be really neat to see.

I guess its feesable, just add some red tint to the male marines lips and with some bump mapping, voila, she-rine!!
P.S. personally I'd like to see an option screen upon joining marines allowing you to pick which one you'd like to appear as (i.e. i'd pick Jamal, the bredrin marine, and maybe they could have a black female model too, called Shenequa or maybe LaFonte, or LaToya.)

That's not the point....these are pasty-white computer geeks (for the most part, at least I think so) *points to self as an example* To see a female is a rare occurence, even a fe-marine avatar. Though it would be funny to see a whole clan use -only- female marine models, they could be amazons...would be funny.

As for me, I think I'd stick to the male model, because I don't think I'd enjoy being unable to say "You bit my balls!" when I get owned by good skulks at my feet.

Ok sure, I can see everyones point. If I were a guy I would love to say those things too. So lets just pretend that I am a girly girl and was offended by the sexual nature of this game. What would be my options.

OK here is to keep the record straight, I am NOT a girly girl, I just heard about this and wanted to see what others thought. I enjoy playing a male marine, b/c it makes me feel that he is a little homosexual when my voice comes over the mic. I just think that it is funny. Maybe I'm thinking too far into it. Its just a game. HEHE <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' />

You don't have to be high in the ranks to get a gun. In fact, even if you're low down there, you can get a gun by simply being where you're supposed to be. That's how I started, though now I don't get many guns, because I lead others places most of the times, and it's rare that the point man lives very long, so I never quite make it there much. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' />

Can't imagine why you'd think that. Last time I checked, the machineguns didn't use bowstrings. Yep, that is (supposedly) why the amazons removed their breast. The way you fire a bow means that you can't have any parts, er, sticking out and blocking the path of the bowstring. And no, I don't want to hear anything about male bowmen and removing parts sticking out.
Fact of the matter however, is that amazons, if they existed at all as anything but scattered individuals, would be unable to remove a breast. The surgery required was far to difficult to perform with the knowledge and resources at their disposal and would most likely result in infections and death in most cases.

Anyway, to keep this off-topic, I find myself treating women better than men in games and gaming-communities. Partly because I was raised that way, but partly because I don't want to scare them away (so to speak). If a guy goes to another game because he doesn't like the community, well, there's plenty where that came from. The same is not true for the female population and losing even one is a fairly large loss. In a perfect world, no one would be "scared away", but this isn't a perfect world and I can't honestly say that I'm nice to everyone all the time. I really make an effort to be nice to women however.

And finally, some stuff actually related to the topic. Female marines have been mentioned, discussed and worked on since 1.0 came out. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for one to actually be included in the official version.

All discussion of amazon secondary sexual organs aside, I'd like to make it clear that there is <i>no</i> indication of the inclusion of an official female marine model at this point. Doesn't have to mean it <i>won't</i> happen, <i>ever</i>, but don't bet on it for 3.0.

I'll now close this to prevent rumors.
