a lot of the spammers you see are doing it to raise there own post count and well like titaniumroger hes spamming the boards to raise his count as quickly as possible. so i am all for getting rid of post counts but i dont really care if they are kept. thats what i have to say about this.
I like post counts I think you should leave them in. Notice that I don't post that often and most people bypass me in a couple weeks, but I think they should stay in.
I don't jugde the persons intellect by their post count, but I use it combined with their join date on how informed they SHOULD be. (some one said this before I think)
And if a PT who posts for the first time comes to the board, he has my respect. Right under his name where I get a "member" title, he has "Playtester"... so I know he's got the right of things.
In any case, Outlaw Star said it best already, so I'll end my two cents.

I respect the names I see making intelligent posts, not the names with dozens or hundreds of pointless posts.

You guys need to learn to NOT go out of your way to induce flaming and self ignorance. It saves alot of time for everyone, and it feels like a much better forum.
There are a few that seem so content with yelling at people that it makes me sick. So, i will repeat it again, for good measure:

Aye, and take Jasper into consideration as well. 11 posts. But he joined the board some 8 months ago. And I imagine, like myself he lurked around the site and forumns for some months before ever joining and posting.
I never look at post counts when reading threads (well I do, but I don't really "look" at them). Generaly, I consider the title of the thread, that half determines what I'm going to think of the poster.
IE: Just Open This with no additional description dosn't get my expectations of an intelligent poster up very high. And boy were they right in that case.
However, unless the person has a title such as Developer or Playtester, I also look at the register date. I'm more inclined to accept the opinion of someone apparently has been around for much longer. A tad predijiduced(sp?) I know, but in about 70-80% of the time, it holds true.
Long and short of it? I wouldn't miss the post counts, but I don't really consider them in the first place. However it might discourage your average troll from registering the first place.
