    You could also make stuff like that as a model, then you could even use an alpha channel(transparency ranging from full to none) instead of alpha test(each pixel either fully transparent or fully visible).

    another question, i knew this b4 but i forgot. how do u make the blue on the texture invisable? i thought it had to have a { before the name but the ns texture im using doesnt.

    edit: i found the { texture that most people use, but im still wondering what all the blue is for if it has no { of the other texture. also, to make the infestation thin should i just make it 1 pixel wide? I looked at mine (which is several pixels wide) and from the bottom or top of it i can see the different texture of the edges, but when im inside it it appears thin. in the flags menu of func_illusionary do i just mark the 2 that say "invisable from bottom/top"? i was just wondering what works best and what normal mappers do

    I'm pretty sure that it's just a mistake that it doesn't have a {

    If you just want a thin sheet of infestation you could only texture one face with infestation and have the others be null. (HL measures in units btw, which are roughly equivalent to inches but have nothing to do with pixels)

    Invisible from ground/above has to do with NS - If you check 'invisible from ground' it will be completly invisible (as if it wasn't there at all) to everyone except the commander, checking 'invisible from above' is the same but opposite. If you check both then no one with be able to see it.
