leaks can be tough sometimes... if you tried everything in DarkATI's guide.... i'd suggest moving around the outside of your map and see if you can see into the map...

edit His guide can be found at the top of this forum, or here.

Well there could be 1 of 2 problems as I see it...
1: there could be a leak somwhere else in the map, this can cause the pointfile to pass through areas it wouldnt normally.
2: There actually is a leak there, try remaking the brush, or just put a square brush over the crack, thats all I can really think of...

Hehe, when I looked at the title really fast of the image I though your map was called ns_rectum lol

well, im having more problems. I almost gave up on mapping altogether because my map was fried and i was afraid starting a new map would do the same thing. I cant get hlfix to work: command prompt wont seem to run it. So my map wasnt working and i decided to give up on it. then i opened an earlier version of my map, before it had problems. it had no leaks, and was just slightly different from the current one.

so i compiled it and ran it, and it didnt seem to have a problem til it froze. I fixed the problem, it was just a sky that was a func_wall by accident. then when i compiled it again it had a leak! i ran the pointfile (lin) and found a bunch of leaks that are far away from what i changed and weren't the way I made them in the .rmf

so i compared the .rmf to the .map file, and the .map file has a bunch of leaks that were never there! so ive figured out it has to be a compiling error. if any1 can help me with this or explain how to use hlfix to me thaaaaaattttt'ddd be greeeeaaaaattttt.

edit: DARN ERRORS! forgot to mention this one, when i close hammer an error box comes up that looks like this:

It's not a compiling error per say. The .map file is the uncompiled version that the tools work from, the .rmf file is just Hammer's version. Here's the problem, when Hammer changes a .rmf into a .map it truncates all your vertices into integers, If you had a vertex at (12.01, 13.5, 14.9999) in your .rmf, Hammer would write in the .map file (12, 13, 14).

My advice, use Quark. It has a built in leak finder thats better and faster than trying to follow the pointfile and doesn't truncate when writing to .map files.
