[mwip/WTH?]opposing Force Marine

<div class="IPBDescription">NS Community! I need your help!</div> Now as many of you probably don't know I've been attempting to convert the Opposing Force marine. So far I've got it working as far as walking and any animation not involving arms. This is of course no I've got it compiled

So when compiled I opened HLMV and saw this:

Like many of you I thought thats not too bad, now where are the arms?

Now heres where I think the problem lies.

I believe this could be due to NS's "Weee I'm an Airplane!" Skeleton not quite working with Opposing Forces "Parade Ground" Skeleton. Of course I could be wrong completely and have made an enormous messup but as this is my first conversion and foray into modelling I'm likely to make stupid mistakes. I still have a feeling something in the converting went wrong but if that is what went wrong I don't mind pointing out vertices isn't that boring and it'd be nice to have a prod in the right direction!

I've also put a link to the .mdl if anyone feels the need to help or you just want a good laugh because the guys arms are all messed up.

I'm also aware that there are other problems (Like the knee bends back a bit while walking but I'll try and fix them a bit later. (Oh and the neck warps a bit))

    What Daza said, and make sure the arms are assigned to the bones correctly

    yeah just basically move the arms over the bones in their correct positions and it should work perfectly

    I think its Serously really cool Ven that your converting that marine, i'd like to throw up props to you for doin it. Fast question- what programs are you using to convert the model>? and how are you adding the NS anims to it>?

    Well, I have arms but they seem to A.) Appear through the body Armour at times and B.) The hands are messed up. Oh and the knees bend backwards when walking.

    It'll just take a little editing!

    Brig's uber skills are scary. Those eyes freak me out!

    if you havent fixed it yet, just rotate the bones. It'll save you the hassle of trying to rotate the arms the right way, and contrary to some's beliefs it'll work the same. gj, too dude, i always liked that marine.

    Well I have fixed it. It's a little bit of a "bodge-it-and-scarper" job as the NS Skeleton is slightly larger than the Op4 Mesh.

    The arms look off when in any idle pose but when your running around with a LMG it looks fine. But I might just have to find some time to adjust it!

    it wont work ingame, chrome + additive = :sadface:

    (i don't know about that model, but I'm pretty sure it's the same one I used before)

    Also, just stick to a high poly version of the HD version by AI.

    i got one question how the hell did you get him to hold the gun cuz my friend wants me 2 make a render of a cs player holding a gun in a certain position and i cant get it >_<
