The website is back, I was just able to connect and play an AWSOME game (only 3 min of it, since I came to post this)

well I got it to download the patch, but then it said it couldn't load Natural Selection. So I reset my computer (it sometimes fixes problems), and now I can't even launch steam. It always stops responding after around thirty seconds >.<

Hmm well as of 9:36 PM EST of March 3rd, Steam isn't even starting up for me I'm getting these errors:

I'm getting an authentication error since updating. I checked, it appears my email address was invalidated. So now i'm sitting here waiting for my verification email. No idea how long it will take.

The europe content servers dropped from 8 to 2 , and one of them is filtred to romanian users only. yippie.

Cannot Connect to the Master Server.....

Was steam really worthwhile? All it gives me are problems.

I think it is because you havent let steam scanned the games, when the steam icon down on the right corner is weird and it is: Steam - working when holding mouse cursor on it.

Then right click on it and choose monitor and let steam scan all the things in there before trying to play, It takes much on the network usage

Did that and still didn't connect to master game server.

I tried looking at games in steam without going in game and i get same msg.

(its only been like this after patch)

I receive that "Could not connect to master game server" to but I can see servers in my favorite list.

You don't have to pay for ASE at all. Payment is completely optional, and (unlike GameSpy) ASE is not crippled in freeware mode.

You mean the continual 7day trail things? which work very slowly?

Neway ASE won't let me join a game won't even find a list of more then 8servers so i duno what i'm doing wrong with it.

Sent an E-mail to Steam its been 6hours now and i still haven't got a responce or a Validation code.

I asked for a code around 10times..... how long does it take for an automated e-mail ffs -_-

well, it's 10:50 am where I live, and steam is down again. Mostly because the crappy server is down. I don't know how they expect people to purchase and download games from them when the damn program won't even work. God I am soo **** off right now. I wanted a good 45 min of NS before my 11:00 class, but I guess that didn't turn out soo well. steam is up, I joined a game, lagged to hell with choke 9 and on netgraph 3 'in' jumped to 2500k/s when in any kind of firefight. I'm sure thats not right. Tried to restart steam but its down again now. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /> I give up, 2 days without games.

I really wish people would be patient just a tiny little bit. This was a major update. Once the steam servers were updated and they were turned on, there was a massive amount of people trying to dl the update. Every single client had to DL the same update which caused their whole network to be bogged down. Once all clients have the update and there arn't so many downloads, everything will go back to the it was. Please, have at least some patients!

I have been unable to play last night or tonight because of this update. I use NS for stress release, I haven't had any stress release for two days. You cant seriously expect me to believe that valve did not have the required information to be able to predict this issue and work around it? Perhaps by allowing people to hosts an update .exe for their clan or group rather than relying on an obviously incapable system.

All they have to do is ensure that they can competantly deliver what they promise. They make the promise, they design the software, they insist that we use it. I request that if we follow their rules they allow it to work.

It would have taken zero forsight to see this would happen and they should have staggered the release or allowed people to delay the update until their systems can cope. (Also it reset my network rates to 56k causing horrible lag and choke :/)

Another thing, did any of us requests a major update? I'd get shot if I released something this bad, and rightly so. String 'em up!

Yup, it's 7:10 PST here in WA, USA, and Steam is still down i guess... NS unavailable, and Steam's not updating any games either.... this sux @ss. I'll sit tight another couple days if i have to... hell, been playing this only since last August/September or so, had to fight through crap to get to play reliably uner WON... but all that was on MY computer, not (apparently) at the mercy of some updating central server somewhere, that prevents EVERYone from playing at the same time... wonder how many players we're losing because of this... hope the STEAM switchover was worth it, on some level other than just 'more reliable gameplay'.... <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' />
