<div class="IPBDescription">General questions</div>Has the limit to how many can be created in one area been set yet?

When hit by them do you literally freeze where you are or can you simply not move? (If you fly through with a jetpack will you fall? get hit on a ramp will you slide? etc)

What happens if you step into 2 at exactly the same time? Do they both disappear? Does only one take effect? Does it double the amount of time your paralysed?

Anyway, clockwork orange is on now so thatll do for now.

    Yes.

You get slowed down a <b>lot</b> and cannot use your weapons until the webbing wears off.

It doubles the effect. I am not sure of the exact statistics.

Can you <i>not</i> use your weapon, or it drops?

BTW: Can welders take out webs?

You cannot use your weapon for the time that you are webbed. When the webbing wears off, you can use it again.

Actually, this is an interesting topic for me, was just thinking about this earlier. I have one question.

How does the gorge set a web? Does he select the weapon, aim at a wall, and what, the web just shoots towards it with each click? How does he connect it from one wall to another?

A playtester is gonna have to answer this one, I think.
  • F_o_RStormF_o_RStorm Join Date: 2002-08-05 Member: 1076Members
The web will span across the wall in a line. To make a web, the gorg must select the weapon "web" like you would any other weapon, then when he shoots, a projectile that has the same sprite as the lvl 2's 'spit' fires out. When it hits the wall, the web is started. Then you fire at another spot on the wall, where you want the web to end, and then both ends will connect, thus creating a web.

Webs can be taken out by welders, and grenades. They disappear when you walk through them. When you walk through a web, you can't use your weapon (it doesn't drop on the floor, it just lowers down). You can still walk when you hit a web, but you walk -very- slowly. You can still jump to some extent, and crouch. If you are flying with a jetpack and hit a web, you drop down and hit the floor. The duratation of a web lasts around 5-10 seconds (I'm not sure on an exact time, that's just an estimate I've got from being webbed in-game).

Any web you walk into will disappear, regardless of how many you walk into. A commonly used tactic by marines without a GL or welder, is to get a marine with low health or the worst weapon to be a "web sponge" (for lack of better word) and adsorb all the webs while his teammates keep an eye out for any aliens that might ambush at the sound of a marine being webbed.

Also, so you don't have to shoot 2 times for each web, you can string them together. Going on what Storm said, after you shoot the 2nd end of the web, if you shoot soon again into another wall, it will create a web between the 2nd and 3rd spots.

Cforrester: It really depends. They are many factors that can determine that. Such as how long it takes you to make each web, and if you have adrenaline upgraded (increases energy gain). But you, say can't make 30 webs all in 30 seconds; webbing does take a fair ammount of energy.

Hmm, sure another question!  =)  Is there a length limit on a web?  Or can u stretch that sucker from corner to corner in the largest room you find?

I was hoping that when your fired the second web...thingy it was already connected to the first and it would (for a few seconds before it hits its target) be a moving web. Which of course would be useful but difficult to use.

What happens if you hit a marine with one of the web projectiles(better than thingy)?

If webs can be damaged by welders does that mean a web has hitpoints? Can a web be repaired?
I know the idea of repairing a web is a bit useless, this is more a question of theory than practicality. You know me, always curious.

No hit points, the web breaks as soon as it's welded.

Can you use the welder to get webs off the websponges?

(Attack a fellow marine with the welder to get him moving again?)

Marines use welders to take out webs. Plain and simple.

And.. Webs can not be repaired, they can not be welded off a marine. So.. yeah.  <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->

erm.. actually, afaik, you CAN weld a marine teammate to un-web him. unless something changed very recently..

and welding webs just makes em go away.
