A little something before i move home,
Below are 4 screenshots taken of the current ns_vivid. 'Main' work will be delayed slightly because I am moving hosue this week, and due to tragic events I will only be using school computers to access the internet (Meaning posting only, unfortunately no pictures) so sit back and mock or congratulate the pictures below. 90% complete pictures (Tidy brushwork up needed slightly and lighitng fixes and making hallways look a little more interesting) Hallways have low r_speeds so computers will be added soon. Thats all, now marvel please

^ Above we see a big view of the commander room. The shot isnt the best for looking at the pipes with the dithering orange lighting. This is just a picture to focus you on the size of the room.*EDIT*Told ya its not completed yet, the door frame isnt fully textured, lol*EDIT*

This is the hallway out of the commander room which is located south west of the commander console. Connects the main Marine area to the commander room. Computers / Pipes / Interesting stuff coming soon

^Above we now see the main entrance leading straight to the command console. This hallway has a nice view looking over the planet below. A bit plain I know, pipes / computers will be added soon. I might even sneak in a vent for detail purposes.

Last screenshot now. The comand console is on the right, above that is a power pipe (which will in the end connect up to all computers all the way through the map, although at moment it hasnt). The orange light behind is where the pipes are. There is also 2 skylights in the room (1 viewable on the picture now) . It looks plain but given a chance in a Natural-Selection game will probably be filled up with some things like Turrets, Welders and Ammo etc.

    Lookin really good.

I would suggest lighting the area in the second and thrid shots up a bit more though. Maybe some white spot lights running down the walls or something. I understand that you might want the area to feel a bit foreboding, but there are plenty of ways to add light to the area without actually making it a bright and cheery feeling room. As mentioned above, spot lights are great for this.

I really like the feel of the command room, especially the lighting. May I suggest adding some wall or otheriwise structural detail to the area when you do your detail pass.

Overall, I think this has a nice colorful NS feel to it.

There seems to be a trend recently towards maps with brighter areas...I think I like it...a lot. I love the banks of computer and stuff and the texture choices. Very groovy

The first pic is pretty nice, good clear architecture and enough detail. I like the computers. Second pic is very atmospheric but that window in third pic looks like its a little out of place. You might want to work on that. 4th pic is also nice.

    Keep on workin'

Hey that window, the more I thought about it the more I thought. Looks like your right, does take the atmosphere out of the room. Its the size, Im gonna add a detailed area with a small window.

    Angel,

I must say, I like what I see... nice overall feel, perhaps a little bright but screenshots never do anyone justice (Except maybe the freaks with official maps )...

One thing I would suggest is to maybe make an extra step for each of those raised sections (in front of the monitors) or at least make it a ramp or something. cause at the moment, kind of looks like you'd expect it to lower down - well at least kind of looks elevatorish to me

but nice work - doing well..
