Asian Horror Movies

Anyone watch these?
This has become a big hit in my country. Almost twice a month they show Asian horror movies (subtitled of course) and they scare the crap out of everyone!
Good examples are the Ring series: Ring 0, Ring, Ring 2, and Ring Spiral (Btw, Hollywood made a remake of the Ring but it sucked compared to the real deal)
Also The Grudge and The Grudge 2 (I heard that Hollywood plans on making a remake on the Grudge too)
And the most scariest movie I have seen as of yet is The Eye. If you haven't seen it yet, grab a DVD and watch it!

Me and some friends used to have nights where we'd watch whole collections of asian films... mainly the fighting ones of course but stuff like the eye or the ring got in there too.
that elevator thingy creeps me out to this day =s
The Eye....never heard of it. But that's because poeple in HK barely air commercials of pwning stuff. Instead they spend their time airing stuff about beauty products and shampoo....
While it got rave reviews and 'OMG SCARY' comments I honestly think 'the eye' surpasses it in every way. Infact after reading this thread I went out and bought it on DVD =3
Never seen the american version... I'm not entirely sure I want to lol XD
Oh and Battle Royale was pretty good stuff too.
And stay clear from the second one.
I'd recommend Dark Water, some people don't really like this one, but i thought it was great on the whole.
Another movie i can recommend is Versus. It's not really a horror, it's got a lot of comedy in it, but it is about zombies and opening the gates of hell and stuff. It's got good actually, funny gore and hillarious characters.
By "The Grudge" i presume you're referring to Ju-On. I didn't know there was a second one, but if the first is any to go by, i'm sure it's a winnar.
I absolutely adore Ringu and Ringu 2 (i feel the second is better), Ring 0 was still good, but it was a drama really, and while it was good to get some background on Sadako's life, it wasn't really my thing. The US remake wasn't that bad really, it changed a lot of things, and spoiled a few things, but on the whole it could have been a lot worse.
I guess Audition could be lumped in with the horror genre, but really it's more of a drama all the way through, until the cringeworthy climax, to be honest it's quite boring, but interesting.
Straying further from the horror genre there's Ichi The Killer. Man, this movie is just brutal. If you do watch it, make sure you get the uncut version. It's sadistic, gory, painful to watch and quite funny in parts. It is without a doubt an excellent movie.
*EDIT: Just as a tip. Look out for Tartan's "Asia Extreme" movies. They're all horror, thriller or action films with lots of gore and the like, generally they're all excellent. At least every one i've seen from the Asia Extreme range has been.
It's so bad it's good, though some of the actual fighting in it is pretty impressive. Especially keeping in mind the knife maniac actually used real knives for all those stunts o.O

I am pretty much positive that a lot of the comedy and such is intentional, especially that crazy guy. He is probably my favourite character in any asian movie i've seen, next to the likes of Kakihara from Ichi The Killer or Kiriyama from Battle Royale.
