This rule needs to be modified to reflect positional play. If you're the only guy on a phase to a siege location, you must live, or the team could die with you.
And this one needs to make some sense - thats just not english.
Instead, get the headphones from your cd player, or buy some speakers, and listen for your back. This isn't real life - nothing in Half life blocks/deflects sound. It's like the entire map was an open field. So you should easily be able to tell where your friends and enemies are by listening. Requires minimal practice and is better than mt.
When faced by opposition you can't handle (even a skulk if you're down on health) run away to safety. It gives you a very good kill death ratio, but more importantly when you die, your enemy get resources. Running saves lives. Although you MIGHT be able to kill off that full health gorge with 70 health and a pistol, chances are you won't.
Yes, never, never listen to him. You'll kill far too many aliens.
Extension to #1. When you enter a room CHECK THE CEILING FIRST! Skulks are more likely to be hiding on the ceiling than in the room. Trust me on this one.
every new player should have that one under their nose during installation ....

everyone knows that, just no one does it.....

This not always the best. I've started to not be in the ceiling just for the simply facts that many people nowadays just run into a room looking straight up.
Nasty surprise for a marine who is looking up to suddenly have his manhood bitten off XD
Hmmmm....
9. Keep your eyes everywhere in front of you, you'll never know when there'll be a skulk at waist level, or above your head.
On topic...
Stick to places where you don't have to watch as much i.e. next to walls so that you don't have to watch that side etc.. Don't walk in the center on a hallway. Basically, always take cover and cover every opening that aliens are likely to come from.
(almost always) The greater the distance, the safer you are.
When using a jetpack, try and stick to the air as pften as possible. It adds a 3rd dimesion of safety which you will miss if it comes off.
Most games have dcs first.. So you don't have to worry about silence until two hives...
If you wish to be unheard, walk. No one does it but it's a good strategy.
If the server allows it, bunnyhop.
and the final comment... even though most hate counterstrike, it's a great place to practice your shooting skills, as everyone there is either very good at it or hacks. Watch how the best of them move, etc. Garuntee you will be a better marine, at least on one level.
