bears have loads of hit points, especialy if its the big grizzlybear.

You know the ones hunters would shoot like 20 times and it would still charge at them?

Kinda like an onos.

I vote or the bear.

I also think the bear would win. Has anyone seen the movie The Edge with anthony hopkins and alec baldwin? The bear scenes in that movie haunt me..... :\

I think it would tear up a lion too.

Just to be different. A lion will tear up a tear. It trows it's body at it's neck..

I think a male lion would be in with a shout tbh cos they are big and fast for their size. In reality tho if they met they would just growl at each other then walk off.

Siberian Tiger or a Liger (lion/tiger hybrid) > bear tho

Tigon = Male Tiger/Female Lion
Liger = Male Lion/Female Tiger

I'll be standing over here in the corner...please talk to me.

The bear is heavier, and has a stronger bone structure, the bear will just crush/tear up the poor lion.

Most likely the lion will just run away hard, since the bear can't run as hard as the lion.

A bear probably wouldn't be used to something as big and fast as a lion attacking it, but then again, a lion wouldn't be used to taking on something as strong as a bear.

A TEST IS NEEDED I SAY!

John West would pwn the bear.

In all seriousness I believe that the bear would win for the reasons already stated.

Lion. Bears run away from ANYTHING. Just run after it shouting and screaming and the damn thing will drop what it's doing and split.

A female lion can overpower and kill a 3 ton buffalo, somehow I don't think a bear will be a problem.

Plus bears eat fish, they don't have the same instinct to go for the jugular like lions, and bears have big necks, which make them big targets.

In the end the humans would win because they are spectacting this marvelous event of a Bear/Lion being raped by a Lion/Bear. We will then have hybrids of Lions and Bears, Making "Liars" or "Beons". Thus, proving this event to have created a new species of mammals.

Four words: Lions hunt in packs...
• The_RedeemerThe_Redeemer Join Date: 2002-12-24 Member: 11490Members, Constellation
Yes Nemesis, they do. But what if you took one Lion, and one Bear then put them in a room and watched them from behind a reinforced one-way window?
• EpidemicEpidemic Dark Force Gorge Join Date: 2003-06-29 Member: 17781Members
Possible scenario. A tiger sneaks up on the bear and grasp for it's neck. The bear hits the lion with's it's a paw and cause irreversible damagebut manages to hang on, bear dies and the lion is deadly wounded and dies shortly after from them.

Well, let's see: An animal layed out for lonely life confronted with a single specimen of a race used to grouped fighting... Do I have to draw a chart?

What about walrus vs hippopotamus?

No I'm not joking. Walrus has shown to be very dangerous to approach, as well as a hippopotamus. They are very territorial, and they are both ruthless when it comes to fighting.

If both were angry (e.g. mother bear protecting cubs), i think it wouldn't matter who would win, as both would be injured quite a bit and possibly die from their wounds, or at least be crippled for life (which is the equivalent anyway)... as for the walrus vs hippopotamus, are they fighting on land or in water?

*edit* TBH though, i don't think they would fight each other.

I'm with Nem and dr.d on this one, if Lions can kill buffalo they sure as hell can kill a bear. Sides lions can use sneaky ninja-like tactics, a bear just bumbles along.

definately the bear. saw a story of these two hunters who saw this big grizzly and it cam after them. the guy capped 2-3 clips in its face with a 9mm and it still came at him. it ended up ripping the guys friend's legs right off, nothin but a torso left......the guy died and finally the bear died.

if we were talking about the 'usual lion with knifes on paws scenario' i recon youd be getting about 9/14 odds on the lion at most exotic animal fighting establishments.

iinm shooting at a bear is a bad idea. It goes mad and can withstand the pain, yet be mad enough to be... well scary
