hey guys. im kinda bummed about my total lack of photoshop skills and or... the program. so if someone could do me a favor and gimme some kind of sweet avatar and sig... that would be sweet. thanks
This is my first attempt at imageready for my sig so tell me what you think and what I should change or whatever.
and i know the file size is too big but i need someone to tell me how to downsize the quality in imageready when you save it. <img src="http://ghettorice.tripod.ca/lcd-sig-animated.gif" border="0">
Mmm..mmm.. just trying to cook up a good avatar for myself, see what people think, is it any good? and, when can I get rid of the sig image I once thought was good, right after this post methinks:
Why thank you chubbysteve but I just realized that I dont really like it so I will be giving it away to anyone who wants it with their name on it, I want something more simplistic and artsy fartsy.
Ok here it is but the file size is way tooo big, will someone like the almighty Fam, Alius, and others please help me out. <img src="http://ghettorice.tripod.ca/New-sig-low-qual.gif" border="0">
Bah! I wrote a long drawn out answer but accidently closed the window.
To sum it up, seperate the blurred sections from the background and keep it to as few layers as possible. You have 17 layers in your sig. Many of them are exact copies of each other. Keep the text and that object you blur on seperate layers and merge them when possible. Keep to the lowest number of layers as you can. Keep the layers given to the background low as well, merging when you can. Hope that helps. Look at my file if you need help understanding what I mean, I think it's either in this post or the banner one. Good luck!
Hmm I kinda understand, mine is only 11 layers, with 17 frames and its still over 200kb, where as your has 20 layers and its only around 34kb? Hmm this is confusing.
On a side note did u like the sig tho?

Thank you Conan that makes me feel phuzzy <!--emo&:0--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'><!--endemo--> , and did the links help you out any?
BTW: I need a little more explaining or for someone like Fam or Alius to take my psd and smack me in the face with a fix to get my sig down in size. <!--emo&???--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo-->
As far as I can tell GIF images, which is what I use on all of my animated sigs, have a compression system where it only refreshes the needed pixels. What I mean is that if you create a GIF image and only move 1 pixel in each frame you can make a 100 frames, because for the majority the image is remaining the same, and therefore very little extra data needs to be stored.
However if the image has a large area of changing pixels, you are almost saving the entire picture for every new frame, meaning that the file size will increase hugely for each frame. Hope you understand all of that <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
As for the compression, in my ImageReady to the top right of the screen there ire options such as the color depth, lossey and compression type.
<!--emo&:(--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('><!--endemo--> no sorry I dont really understand, I did manage to get the gif down to 85 from 220 because i changed the lossynes but the immage didnt that clear anymore. Hmmmm I really dont understand what to do to get my image size down.
Hey first post <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo--> I just wanna see if my sig works right
i can see a sig BUT i dont think it is working right coz your name is Schutzstaffel and on the sig it is Solid Snake? <!--emo&???--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo-->

I recon you should just have it as a solid image (not animated), and then the file size will drop surely.
