<div class="IPBDescription">what do y'all use?</div> is mIRC still the standard? I don't want to have to pay after 30 days :o messed around with Trillian's irc client, but trillian is such bloatware IMO, not worth using for just IRC...

any other suggestions?

    I use HydraIRC. It's got a nice, simple interface but it's still powerful. It doesn't hog too many resources, either.

    HydraIRC. Why? mIRC is actually more powerful and stable, but I got tired of it saying "pay up punk"

    mIRC. except my version is like 3 years old. Its nice, it doesn't have all the security flaws or annoying features that everyone wishes they could turn off in the new ones. Its also fast and stable.

    I use Trillian, I rather like how easy it is to idle on channels across multiple servers (Like I do quite often)

    mIRC, because I'm not nerdy enough to worry about security or resource hogging.

    Probably should be, but y'know. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I don't use IRC much, so when I do I just use <a href='http://gaim.sourceforge.net/' target='_blank'>GAIM</a> for that too.

    <a href='http://www.bersirc.com' target='_blank'>BersIRC</a>.

    It even promotes world peace and whitens your teeth while you eat.
    Actually works across all platforms (or soon will), has a nice tree strucutre for multiple rooms/servers and just seems a lot more stable and slick.

    I use <a href='http://xchat.org/' target='_blank'>Xchat</a>, it's quite good. Nice, clean and simple.
