<div class="IPBDescription">New :NS 3.0 ready w/ new HMG idle anims</div> hi,
now that *finally* the Gauss Rifle is out, I thought of re-releasing *my* SC models.
The major differenz between the v2 and the *old* v1 is, that I <b>added the missing animations that came with 3.0</b> to the model.
So now the SC marine also is able to throw handgrenades. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I also added Pvt. Hudson's <b>new idle animations for the HMG and LMG</b>. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

hf with this model.

The v2 also comes in 2 different versions:

    it seems the origins for the P model of the gauss needs to be changed on that last pic, the trigger is infront of the hand

    This model looks like it would fit better as a heavy.

    Place it in \heavy and rename it to heavy.mdl

    It'll use the run animation for running, though.
    I think the original heavy runs the walk animation at running pace, so it'll look a little bit weird.

    By the way, there's only white and red.
    No pruple in the red model, and no black in the white one.

    Yes, I did check in Modelviewer. The textures aren't even there.

    Nonetheless, I like it. As soon as I get HL working I'll have it repleace the UT Gorge <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    yeah he's right, plus you don't have the smartgun versions anymore :-\ (personally I like the aliens smartgun as an hmg since the gauss rifle seems more like an lmg imo) and I just fooled around with your version 1 in milkshape and the original models from back in the day and got the white model to have his visor down for heavy armor. For some reason when I used milkshape to edit it, it would not add both colors again so I'm stuck with white and not white/black. Probably just b/c I'm a n00b with milkshape but that might be the same problem you had and why the secondary colors don't exist anymore???

    yea, I kinda agree with you. I kinda see the gass rifle as the standard rifle for terrans, so yeah I see it as a lmg, but I stil love this one.

    Yeah, I like using the terran marine as heavy, but not I am ussually one of the few peole who play as heavy on the servers I play on, and want to see the mdel so have it as a soldier. Totaly looks awsome with a gauss rifle.

    purdy

    tho i would rather have them as Heavys
  • WarfareWarfare Join Date: 2002-10-29 Member: 1697Members
    I think they should be both, and the gauss rifle animations made for both LMG and HMG.
    You could just concider the HMG one an upgraded version.
    Nonetheless, I would prefere the same idle animations for both (or are they for both already?).
  • douchebagatrondouchebagatron Custom member title Join Date: 2003-12-20 Member: 24581Members, Constellation, Reinforced - Shadow
    good grief. the ones i have are everything these are spose to be without the new faces. and my nade animations look fine. i added in the idle animations for the lmg and hmg also, and i use the black/white one as heavy and red/purple one as soldier. if people want mine i can upload them... but they dont have new faces.
  • WarfareWarfare Join Date: 2002-10-29 Member: 1697Members
    You don't really get to see the faces anyways.
    You're either too low or too high above the player to notice it, unless you're a marine, and what're you looking at your mates for? Go check for aliens <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    no smartgun animations... yep that's right. I didn't made a *new* version because the idle animation looked strange on the smartgun...

    For the other (gren) animations... I ripped them from the original NS 3.0 model and just added them to the .qc. I didn't change anithing to them. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    What I'll do soon:

    - also replace the lmg animations with the new ones'
    - fix that thing with the additional skins
    - go throught the animations and try to fix that issue with the crounching animation (if possible)
    - try to do a HA version of it <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    thx for C&C so far <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    yes, i was just telling bigwig how it works, also on my white/black one the visor is always down for some reason, but i use that one as a heavy armor so it works for me

    any chance of getting em with visor closed all the time?
    oh, and brimstone had a personal hack with very cool visors, cant give you pictars cause its not on his webspace anymore... only the quote from him in the locked warspike thread:
    <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->It's sort of a hack- and it doesn't even look right in the shots, because when I changed it to default HMG animations (instead of smartgun), I forgot to tick the visor as additive too.
    Basically, all you have to do to use the SC marine as a heavy is rename the model. All I did extra was close the visor, change its texture to the halo visor (from a CS model), set it as chrome and additive, then stuck on a motion tracker and a comm unit. I don't have an ingame, but:

    here's a cleaner shot of the light also:

    If someone wants to host them, I guess I'd release them, just have to dig and get credit together...<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    i googled for such a cs model, got <a href='http://www.levels4you.com/review.l4y?file=5320' target='_blank'>this</a>
    not a cs model, but maybe you can use it
    please give it a shot panaka, it looks so cool with the chromey visor <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    hm... additive visor? mhm... I'll try what I can do... But I'm still a n00b at this... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    btw: I added this to the qc: (used <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=63131' target='_blank'>this</a> as my reference)

    <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->
