By coincedence I landed on PlanetHalfLife seeing the Picture of the Day. The POD contained a screenshot from Red Justice. When I looked at it, I saw something familiar... well, see for yourself...

Asraniel: they're not, atleast, the FAQ says you can't <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
OH anyway I think it was just used as temperory playtesting, so it doesnt matter. The news post says they were testing a new mode called Assault.

All of the textures in the NS Wad (including the one shown in this screenshot) are unique, and were not taken from or based off of any textures in any public set. The only exceptions were a few textures Relic used, by permission, on bast, from a site called Shaderlab, which somehow ended up being included in the NS wad.
The NS textures are not allowed to be used for any non NS related materials without written permission from us.
As far as I know this Red Justice mod has recieved no such permission.

This does not give carte blanc to bash the mod though. Keep it friendly. They may have simply not realized the mistake...
I'm glad it's settled.
And please, like Mons E said, play nice and don't start trashing their mod.
Nice try. Everyone is getting flame happy. These mods are quality mods; they know when to nuke.

Glad to hear. Usually that's the case with most mod teams, its simply an honest mistake. They usually aren't out to blatently steal someone else's work. Kudos to them for realizing and correcting the error, and kudos to the NS team for being professional about the matter.
I remember when some other mod thought we stole their sound effects for FLF (we didn't, in fact none on our team had even played their mod), but rather than being curteous I got a lot of IRC and email bashing, not to mention crap flying on forums. And reversly, there was a time when some mod took AHL's models but then refused to stop using them. The devs of AHL had to threaten legal action against them (which is a valid option btw).
But this situation is a good example of The Right Way of doing things. ;)
