Let me just be perfectly clear that I do *NOT* represent the forums when I say that. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Hawkeye, it just a reminder, simply b/c mods have a tendency to lock threads when wares talk comes up (as it is against forum rules), just a reminder.
Oh, and since we have answered his question....
*threadjack*

ok, it works for movies, I guess....
but what about games?
Does it realy mater if I get my hands on FFX before everyone else in the country? I mean it will still be in Japanese (and generaly people who import games can read the language).....
Well this conversation was going nowhere. But I will clarify this, xbox games are zoned, quite like dvds. Europe uses the PAL format, and America uses a different format, this is to stop people in Europe from playing games before they are released in Europe.
Modchips: These are mainly for warez purposes, but I have one for my Playstation that ISN'T used for this purpose. I moved from Canada to Finland and had to buy a new playstation here, due to the different ellectric currents, and then I found out none of my games worked, so I bout a modchip to play my legally bought games.
There are modchips for xbox's but they require opening the xbox to install and null your warrenty, so it is probally best to wait till it comes out where you live.
EDIT: If it is bought from amazon.co.uk then it will work, because all of Europe is in the same zone.

Hard (legal) solution: It will probably work, if he doesn't mind it showing/speaking text in english.
Why did you say that?
There have been numerous posts by mods about this not being discussed on the forums, ignoring the fact that it is also illegal.
but if his xbox is "european" or something, it might not play it... like, you know, PS2s from the US don't play japanese games?
hawkeye, yuo should know better (wares talk is prohibited here)
as for if they are zoned or not?
....... (google)
It seems so. (mod chips can get around import problems, therefore they are probably zoned)
