EVE Online forever! (Until World of Warcraft, of course)
I'm playing ..
EVE Online Call of Duty (Mostly, well actually all mutliplayer. Beat the campaign once, and now whenever I try to start a new one, at the car scene, the game crashes. Bummer.)
I intend to respond to everyone's response... because im that desperate.
First of all, I dont like realistic FPSs. Period. Theyre just not fun. Im more of an old sk00l type FPSer, with me blasting through hoardes and hoardes of enemies while bunnyhopping the entire time.
UT2k4 - Ive been meaning to pick this up, because the demo was a whole lot of fun. So I probably will.
Space emipres IV Gold - Looks like a neat game, but also seems overly complex, from what ive read. Still, Id like to try it, but I couldnt find it anywhere.
Battlefield Vietnam - Tried it, wasnt all that impressed.
Warcraft 3 - Already have played the crap out of it, have no desire to do so anymore.
Planetside - Played the crap out of this when it was in beta, but there really isnt anything to keep me playing. Until they fix the issue where you can work to take over a continent for 5 hours, and then come back an hour later and your down to 6 bases, I have no desire to play this piece of trash.
MGS2 - Played it already, and wasnt a big fan.
Starcraft - Played the crap out of it already.
Call of Duty - Played the crap out of this, but I may go back to it. One of the best FPSs ive played in a long long time.
EverQuest - Oh god. You couldnt pay me to play this.
Star Control 2 - I really couldnt find much info for this, but it looks very interesting from the screenshots I saw. Like Continuum, or Starscape, I gathered. I'll look into it.
Various retro RPGs - Ive played pretty much every Square game. The FF series has really gone downhill since it left the SNES. And dont get me started on Chrono Cross... blech. It looks like Daikatana compared to CT.
Homeworld 2 - I didnt like HW1 that much, so I dont have much of a desire to play 2.
Max Payne 2 - I may try this one out. 1 was a so-so FPS, so im hoping the 2nd would be better.
Rise of Nations Trial - Played it. Could never really figure everything out, eventually deleted it.
Planeshift - Ive definently been meaning to try this game out, so maybe I will.
Allegiance - Is this SP or MP? I never really have liked MP space combat stuff, unless its co-op.
SWG - No. Just no. Did I say no?
PoP: Sands of Time - Been there, done that.
Farcry - Ive been meaning to try this out. Ill go download the demo.
Ninja Gaiden - Dont have a Xbox.
AvP2 - Played it already. Cool game.
Lineage II - Does it suck as much as Lineage I? I played an alpha at least years E3, and was very unimpressed.
EVE Online - Have heard a lot of bad stuff about it... and I dont think they have a trial without buying the game.
Ragnarok Online - I really would like to get back into this game, because its pretty much the best MMORPG ever. But I dont really have the time for a MMORPG right now.
Emperor: Battle For Dune - Saw a friend play it. Im not a Dune fan, and didnt seem like an overly great RTS on its own.
And well, the games I skipped were because I have no interest in playing them. So my list of games I would like to try are:
UTk24 Space emipres IV Gold Star Control 2 Max Payne 2 Allegiance Planeshift Far Cry
Hopefully ill find 1 or 2 good ones out of that.
Anyone have any good retro games they like I may have missed in the past few years?
Alligance is a muliplayer online rts/fpfloatyshipcombat game. Basicly it's like NS but with space ships on a larger scale. Most popular game mode is conquest. Two sides battle for control of the various sectors on the map, first person to lose all their star bases loses. But you can build more, mine asteroids upgrade ships, co-op piloting and gunnery in bombers and cap ships etc. It's hard to describe. But if you like NS and don't mind space combat games it's definately worth a try.
To Weggy: Yep, Ragnarok Online is a pretty good MMORPG, and about EVE Online, I don't really find any issues except for how long it takes to raise a skill from lvl 4-5 and in some cases 3-4, but you are basically free to do what you want to do. And about Emperor: Battle for Dune, there's an earlier game if you liked the original Command and Conquer, its called Dune 2000. Personally, I liked the worm attacks in Dune 2000 because the only warning was a small sifting of sand and periodic electrical surges, making it hard to spot them. Oh, and have you played Quake 2, Doom, Wolfenstein 3D? Aaahh....good times, good times. Finally, AvP2, awesome, which race did you play the most?
*Edit* I forgot something, what may scare people away from EVE is probably the big learning curve, but its fun after that.
EVE: Online - Very good game IMO, pretty complicated but you learn as you play the game. And of course you can ask the other players if you have any problem or so... they usually answer your question/s. As I’m told the game offers about 5000+ systems that you can travel too.
You can try the 10day trial at Fileplanet: http://www.fileplanet.com/files/130000/138317.shtml
it's funny how such a simple MMORPG as Ragnarok can be so addictive, while other RPG's have much better graphics (though I really love the 2D sprite characters) and more options.
I would indeed agree that Ragnarok is a great game, and though I don't play it currently, I have done so in the past.
Malfador Machinations homepage Follow the link, scroll down to ordering and select a company to order from. Its not availible in shops due to the difficulty of setting up a good enough deal with a retailer.

Beyond Good and Evil. Freedom Fighters. Beyond Good and Evil.
Beyond Good and Evil.
yeah, that's about it of late.
(by the way, these are great games worth much more than their current pricing - Freedom Fighters I snagged from work for 9.99 on the PC version, and Beyond Good and Evil I don't think sells for more than 19.99 on any system)
weggy, don't base the quality of Lineage II on the fact that you played the first one's ALPHA VERSION and didn't like it. Comon, its an alpha for christs sake, they almost always suck.
Im playing natural selection, just started playing starcraft again, warcraft3 (on lan with friends), and playing too much Painkiller. Well the demo anyways....

SC2 - free download. Be warned, after you download it and run the installer, thats when it downloads most of the game, while its installing. Pretty much perfect conversion actually, the only time I got let down was at the end when I completed the game for the second time last night. The final cutscene was missing - heartrending stuff.
However, you will get loads of enjoyment out of this puppy. Just remember - you CAN buy extra turning modules and thrusters - dont be a newb and play the entire game moving like a 1 legged cow...
