Quite probably the worst thing ever.
Has anyone seen the movie Phone Booth?

http://www.phoneboothmovie.com/index2.html

I saw it on TV the other day, it had about 15 minutes to go till the end. So I think to myself that looked like an awful movie, I'll just watch the last 15 minutes to see what happens.

(spoilers?)

Ok so at this part the guy, Stu, was in a phone booth, talking to a sniper on the other line, surrounded by police, 3 minutes later he was still doing this. 5 minutes later his mistress or something shows up and he confesses a bunch a crap, the cops almost kill him 5 times, and the lead detective guy stop them each time. About 8-10 minutes later Stu tries to use his cellphone to tell the police about the sniper, and the sniper tries to force Stu to use a gun hidden in the phone booth, this goes on for a couple of minutes.

Then it dawns on me this movie is 15 minutes away from being over, this has been going on for near two hours, well at this point my brain stopped working and I blacked out and didn't finish watching it. I put on this movie specifically to see the ending so I didn't have to watch all of it and I couldn't even handle the last 15 minutes, I think I can safely say this is the worst movie (even partial) I have ever seen.

(spoilers above)

I started thinking about it in the office and my brain started hurting again, I didn't put spoilers because I assumed there wasn't anything to spoil.

Has anyone else seen this movie? Do the cast confess it was a practical joke at the end? Does the phone booth turn out to be a portal to hell? Or is it just a really really bad movie?

I saw that movie and I enjoyed it. Nothing award winning, but it was entertaining and was definately different than most movies where people aren't happy without sex scenes and lots of body counts..

Also you should really have told people your entire post was one big spoiler...

I saw it, and I loved it.

    SPOILER

In the end, Stu tells everyone what he's done as the police take point on him. He obviously hints the police that it's not him that shot the pimp, and the police catch on and learn which building the sniper's in. They shoot Stu with a rubber bullet to knock him down after he completely looses it, runs out of the booth screaming to be shot. Right as he's shot, they break into the Sniper's Room to find the Pizza Guy from the begining dead with a slit throat. Stu's now in a ambulance, alone and given a knock out drug or something, his vision gets blurry anyway. He looks up to see the REAL sniper and hear his voice as he polishes his shoe. Since he's drugged up, you can't make out the face. The sniper walks off and no one knows the truth but Stu.

It's not really a spoiler.... I mean, you find out somebody confesses something, and that the guy is in a phone booth, that's about it. I've never seen the movie and still have no clue what's going on.

No, no, no... The worst movie ever was Halloween 3.

If you've seen that movie you'll know what I mean when I say it was so bad I felt like my own TV set was going to kill ME!

The ending was hilarious, the bad guy was dead somehow but they were still going to make the fatal mistake. The protagonist ends up talking to a TV station rep "Stop it, you've got to stop the broadcast!" "I'm sorry sir, I-" "Stop it!" "Sir, I-" "Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!" and that's the end.

Maybe I saw the worst 10 minutes of the whole movie?

Figured the end would be the most exciting part.

By the way thanks for posting the ending in there Liku I was kinda curious, figured it'd be something cliche like that.

I thought Phone Booth was actually pretty good. The ending may have been fairly predictable, but it still was an interesting idea. Trust me - if you watch the whole thing it's a lot better.

I was sadly disappointed by the movie, although for having only ONE scene location, it was done pretty well.

Yah maybe not seeing it from the begining didn't give me the chance to have my window of disbelief slowly suspended. Seeing all the cops and hearing the plot an hour 40 minutes into it was kind of like what the **** is this?

I didn't really like it....I mean, who wants to see some guy sitting in a phone booth the whole movie crying? It wasn't that bad of a movie, it just wasn't anything spectactular.

But at least it made for a good soundboard

I heard it was shot in 12 days.

I was thinking of going to see it, but then forgot all about it tbh.

My sister. It ended badly and she ended up becoming a fanatical Christian. Never thought she should have forgiven the guy. Personally I believe that you have a bond of trust with someone that once broken can never be repaired. It's a vile and despicable act to break that trust and anyone who does that loses all my respect.

Average film, made brilliant by Kiefer's fantastically snarling voice and patronising utterances. I enjoyed it.

    I agree.

It was well known that phone booth was set in one location. I found it a refreshing film that broke the traditional film mould. I wouldn't go see phone booth part2 though.

    Me too.
Though I thought Farrel also had a good performance. Kept my attention throughout the 2ish hours which was good for a film set in pretty much one location. Enjoyable, decent directing, good performances from the two main characters.
The only disappointing thing was the ending. While i'm not going to spoil it. I found it kind of unsatisfying. But the rest of the film is more or less great, definately worth watching.

it was predictable, and had farrel doing a weird, unidentifiable foreign guy's voice..

but honestly, it wasn't a waste of money, for me. i enjoyed it while i watched it.

i only saw it cause my wife has a thing for Collin Farrel(is that his name?) but i actually enjoyed the movie. i liked it cause its amazing to see how one person can mind-**** you. but then i though HEY this movie has been done before! not with a phone booth but with a cell phone. really it has wesly snipes in it, an the cell phone is the nokia 3130. ill google right now to find the movie name cause i cant remember it *opens another browser* *googles wesly snipes* *total time: 16.54 sec(i love technology)* any ways the movie is "Liberty Stands Still (2002)" i dont know if it even made it to the box-office, i just caught it one day on HBO. and realized those 2 movies are really alike. which makes me mad, i havnt seen a movie plot that really has not been done before. if someone knows of one please inform me. btw i favor phone booth cause Kiefer is THA MAN!!!!!oneoneone

I saw Phone Booth and it's definitely a good movie. People are complaining because it took place in one area the whole time, there wasn't much action and it was predictable... But the point of the movie was to show you the psychological side of things, not have great action scenes full of chases and everyone getting shot by the sniper. This movie was about a guy screwing with a guy's mind to try and teach him a lesson about deceiving people.

I found Phone Booth very enjoyable and a good film to watch. What really made the film for me was Keifer Sutherland's lines and the way he delivered them - fantastic. So good I watched it twice on my Singapore Airlines flight from Heathrow to Singapore, most probably because I couldn't get to sleep but that is another story). I also have it on DVD, I find it fun to watch one every few months.

If you didn't like Phone Booth you probably wouldn't like "Panic Room" either. (another good movie) There's not even surrounding buildings to look at.

And regards to Colin Farrell's gf forgiving cheating on her, from what limited knowledge I have of the fairer sex, if your boyfriend looks like Colin Farrell or exudes "badass cool", there's a lot they're willing to put up with. Especially if there's kids. But no value judgement from me here - no sir..
