The Better Business Bureau is asking Apple to stop claiming they have the “world's fastest, most powerful personal computer”. These ads were even banned in the UK because the claims Apple made were not supported. At this point it isn't clear what Apple will do, but even the UK banning didn't stop them last time. It will be interesting to see what happens.
<i>The Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that Apple Computer discontinue comparative performance claims regarding its Power Mac G5 desktop. Acting on a tip from Apple rival Dell, the council's National Advertising Division (NAD) "determined that the evidence provided by Apple did not provide a reasonable basis for its broad unqualified claims that its Power Mac G5 is 'the world's fastest, most powerful personal computer' and that it 'edged out the competition on integer.'"</i><!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

They bought the domain name "com". News is a subdomain. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Obviously, but its still stupid. :P
In other news, what exactly <i>does</i> make this the fastest PC ever, if anything? I haven't heard much about it.
or less
An apple machine is a very powerful working machine. If you need to get work done, be it Web Sites, Coding, Animation, Video Editing, it's more commonly done on the Mac.
But for anything else, a PC still wins hands down!
...that can't do anything.

Neither have we. Our little switch ad parody addresses Apple's inability to own up to the fact that mac gamers get the shaft. This ad has been all over the net and tech-related TV shows. It even went all the way over to France where it was shown on French TV. There, it met a young French girl and spent one wild month backpacking through Europe. Now it has returned home for your enjoyment.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Who needs to play games when you can blaze along in Word faster than any PC can.
You can do everything a Mac can do (<i>maybe</i> slightly slower in some cases), but then when you're done working you can have a nice relaxing (or infuriating) round of NS.

In other news, news.cnet.com works too...
Its getting a lot better. I managed to see Rainbow Six 3 at PC World for the Mac yesterday :X
The Mac community supports itself quite well, releasing Indie Game after Indie Game, often of vastly superior content quality of the PC gaming market (see: <a href='http://www.spidweb.com/' target='_blank'>www.spidweb.com</a> <a href='http://www.ambrosiasw.com/' target='_blank'>www.ambrosiasw.com</a>) Not all of these games are gems, and usually great mac games are ported to the PC, but just saying that Mac Gamers are teh suck merely because they don't get 4,000 new games that nobody will play anyway isn't very fair. It isn't very fair that excellent games get cancelled because of initial crappy coding (see: HL) but that's life.
There are more than just these 2, well-known software publishers (see: <a href='http://www.fantasoft.com/' target='_blank'>Fantasoft Software</a>) that produce games for the macs, some produce crappy games for the mac, some don't.
As for the blazing fast speed, if you've ever met a mac user, and seen how well Macs and Mac-users work together, you would be amazed. I barely know beans about my Laptop (and I can't exactly take it apart) but I do know how to use it since the OS'es are so similar, but I still can't figure out how to get my clock to display time in standard 24-hour style, which was pretty much 4 clicks away in the Mac OS.
This is a lot longer than I wanted it to be. I agree with the BBB that the ad saying that the Apple Computer is "so damn fast" is kinda inaccurate, but what about those MSN ads? They're lying out of their teeth! Better example-AOL ads. 'nuff said.
Now you can no longer say "world's fastest computers" because in order to say that, it has to be true? I thought "fast" was more opinion than fact nowadays.
