Its been like a half a year since i first heard of ns and probably way longerr....for you vets...
Sure those grueling days of waiting were worth the sweat when it is released and all your high anticipation fullfiled or not.
But i half to sincerely say that I would have liked to have found out that this mod ever existed on the day it was released..
On a side note:
How many number of players is *good* for a server, 32? 20?
and what are the lag physics like, is there gunna be a lota ping around 300+ on the release day just like dod 3.1 was??
peace gtg do a report

Good ping = doesn't truly matter from tasty net code
as one PT put it "They are comin outta the F***in walls man!"
i can never shoot down my targets with the constant spike lag
but ns looks lag free
/me caresses the netcode
*cuddle*
ahem
but for bf1942, I don't have much of a problem with it, I'm good up to about a ping of 140, only then do I start to have problems.
20+ sure is fun though - constant action and plenty of strategy!
Simply due to map size and the aliens faster rate of movement, games below a 5v5 don't work very well and whilst a LOT of fun, games much above 10v10 tend to dissolve into anarchy. Having said that, there's no real reason why a good commander and disciplined marines isn't workable for a 16v16, but for public play, you'd probably find the commander having a nervous breakdown.
we already have :o
and im pretty sure i dont know anyone of you :p
i found NS like half a year ago. altho i noticed the "revolutionary" gameplay concept, i didnt follow it at all, till about few weeks ago. i dont play halflife anymore (Q3F TILL I DIE!!) , but NS kinda hyped me up again. wasnt exited about a soon-to-be-released mod since uuuhm cs beta 2 :)
ps.
you "veterans" should be carefull about calling newbies "n00bs"
dont bring elitist CS style thinking to ns.
