If you are in Experimental, there will generally be 2+ updates a day. Once I get an update I like to go here and see what has been altered/fixed/updated.

Not entirely sure what you mean by earlier versions. There are only two versions; the Stable and Experimental. But yes April 20th is the tentative schedule for the features in Experimental to be implemented into Stable.

Sounds like you should have waited for the full release. As development progresses, directions change whether from developmental issues to developer vision, no game has been created that looked the same from start to finish.
