As far as visually scary, blood kelp easily. -

Am I the only one that thinks that parts of the lost river should be a lot larger? As in, the ceiling for the lost river much higher giving a lot more room.

Actually, one time I named my cyclops "Dio" and my base in the active lava zone had a beacon that I named "Midnight sea"

Last time I checked, there was a bottom of the abyss walls, and some really weird terrain down there. Then after you go over that edge, there's just no more terrain.

I always color my stuff bright yellow to make it easier to see them in dark areas

That's actually a genius workaround. Consider it like the player digging around in the aurora PDA files to find a rudimentary mapping of the region and saving it to his personal PDA. -
Well, there are small dips in performance when I change biomes too fast, or if I'm near the surface then dive down into a deep biome, but other than that it stays at a steady 70-80

The game doesn't crash or lag for me, at the highest settings I get 80 frames per second with no dips. It's a good practice to always make sure your computer is physically capable of running a game before buying it.

Get to the ILZ before you fabricate any equipment whatsoever. As soon as you start the game, farm for metal, turn them into pipes, and start a pipeline going all the way down to the ILZ. Once there, you can finally create a habitat builder and build…
