I hate the game in it's current state, change away.

That's such an annoying question. Worth it for what? Was the proprietary spark engine worth it in the end for NS2? I would say it isn't the end yet. So far? I would say it hasn't been worth it.
But was it worth it from an experience poin… -
No, you will have an unplayable experience.
I'll elaborate, my laptop with a core i7 3610QM (better than your i3) and an nvidia GT 630m (better than integrated) struggles to provide an enjoyable NS2 experience.
So don't bothe… -
I've got 500+ hours(588) but I'd still consider myself pretty average at the game at best (can't be bothered getting better). So yeah, I'm going to come in there and wreck up the place.

Thanks for letting me know.

My NS2 playtime drastically decreased after the NS2WC announcement, then it bounced back up(like a ball bouncing on grass) and back down again to rest. I'm probably still going to be around, lurking in the forums, maybe helping teams create maps if …

Game of the year.

overall ns2 performance is acceptable. But yeah, the editor needs some work.
-
That seems to have done the trick. Thank you very much.
You're statement "You will also need to be sure that anything using PlayingTeam class is loading your file and not vanilla." I'm not too sure I understand what you mean by that. -
Here's the solution ( well, I'm sure people will disagree): make ammo cost res, and make grenades more expensive than say, shot.
-
Stop trying to ignore the rookie problem people. Its real, if we don't solve it most rookies will quit the game before they get good.
A more organised match system will probably help. -
This is brilliant, NS2 is rather expensive to rent a server so I've not really been motivated to get into modding. I think this will help motivating people to mod the game more. I'm sure motivated by it.

But what is balance? Is it teams winning 50/50? Is it individual encounters? Is it both? Does balancing individual encounters lead to teams winning 50/50? Are we so sure about that?
I guess we'll just have to ... weigh things up.
Well this topic sure went off topic, right into a swamp.Cool stuff, I'll remember that when I want to get rid of ads. Although I'd rather avoid them trying to be there in the first place. although I think the pcsx2 option is superior because it simply makes the computer think the ps3 controller is an xbo…There's a reason NS2 has an average of 1000 players at any one time and counter strike global offensive has an average of 30 000. And it's not because the two games are fundamentally different.@Svardskampe oh I've already uninstalled it. I'm not interested in mucking around in a terminal.
Also, don't use motioninjoy, it's adware always online…pub player eh? Yeah, currently the vanilla game has zero mechanism to make pub play enjoyable for solo pub players beyond the noob stage.I just want to be able to not be tracked when I don't feel like playing seriously.I'm on board with this. My skills aren't exactly usable but I'm working hard every day to get there. I haven't done much(any) with the spark level editor but I'm planning on doing a learning log of that. I don't have a lot of experience with level d…My way of writing often comes off incorrectly (gets misunderstood slightly to the detriment of discussion). The biggest problem in the community I have experienced is when great genuine ideas get shut down or ignored because they're too difficult to…I've tried it. Its nvidia only currently so I had to use my GTX 295.
They made a strange decision and currently sound only works via HDMI (assuming because most people will use this on their tvs), meaning no voice chat and I had no sound…Taking playtime into account is stupid because that will just encourage people to sit in the menu to increase their playtime. If you make it have to be on a server then it'll end up with people sitting in the ready room. If you make it have to be in…I've pretty much quit this game at the moment because I'm a pub player and I play in Australia.
I will say this about the new skill thing: First, I think it's a great move towards making NS2 enjoyable for me again (at least). Second, exp…Oh, those design decisions were intentional, not accidents? Cya, I'm outta here.steam family sharing is in beta still, it's not actually out yet.If this doesn't reach the goal on it's own merits, I really hope UWE doesn't pay the remainder; that would defeat the purpose of a community organised event.
I know UWE is already paying $30 000, and I'm not bothered by that.
Getti…Are you in the beta branch? Check the game properties in steam under the beta participation area.*falls to knees, looks up and spreads arms* NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
note: I'm in Australia.14 is my preferred number: 6 people on the ground, one in the chair.
