(Quote) I don't buy this. QL has movement skills. Its not HLDM:AG but its not CS either. I can go play QL against players of my own skill. No problem. No "ruined" games. I can also go play against the better players, and yeah good game. I'm not c…

To me, ranked server seems to be an easier route at first. Make it possible for server admins to easily use it.
All you need is some kind of tracking of user skill, and then some cvars to allow range for eligible players. Thus if the ran… -
The solution to uneven games, which I've said many times in the past, is balanced teams, not limiting the skill cap. Decreasing skill cap decreases the game depth and makes it die faster. NS1 lasted so long because the game had huge amount of depth.…

Haha blind. I wonder what your neighbors would have thought if I had played NS1 there.
Great games. Mm-hm, Peach and comebacks, where have I seen this before.
I hope you had done interviews in the end. Would have been intere… -

Would be nice if you can keep the donations up until the finals are played as people might wanna spectate and donate because they are seeing a great game. Would be possible to advertise the pool on stream too.

Haha, that round 4 was hilarious. I knew quaxy was going to do something like that.
They have 2-2'ed saunamen in the past, very good achievement for a team of that skill. -
Nice drawings.
Most frustrating part when you put up a PC is to realize the memory doesn't fit there and you have to take the cooler or whatever or maybe rip apart the whole case because 1" of missing space. -
I can tell you that in NS1, welding was hugely important. Especially in late game. Jetpacks would die to focus fade immediately. Countless matches were lost due to bad welding, not to mention the hilarious rage of CHASING someone with a welder to fr…

Awesome videos, Thanks guys!
Hey, here's an idea: do highlights of failures of your casts. Bloopers! -
Epic game, I use to play this before NS.

I used to love ns_bast too when I was a pubber (or when I was low-skill competitive player). If you look carefully, you can find my post defending bast long time ago. Defending its "atmosphere" or whatever. Whe… -

Ah Maxx the hacker. It must be because he is polish and speaks almost native English. If anything, that is weird. I knew it all along!

For starters you could just add a cvar to server-side which prohbits anyone who has played above N number of games to join the server. You might be able to even define a range there. Better to define something relative like bottom 20% etc. This woul…

This was a real issue in NS1 that was not addresses properly. There are several ways to address this but I think matchmaking and skill-based servers are the best. Just by allowing server admins to able to limit people by game hour time is an easy fi…

thelawenforcer, yeah I get what you mean but you have to realize a lot of NS1 players tested NS2 it came out and quite because of performance or gameplay problems. I won't lie, competitively NS2 was a joke back then. Only by going to direction of NS…

Its only in the anarchy of the Internet where random guys who are talking about things they really have no clue about. There's no respect for authority. Even in random hobby clubs in Real World people respect more experienced people, let alone those…

Try disabling spread spectrum for FSB. Spread spectrum basically changes the clock all the time a bit to reduce EMI noise to meet some standards. This has fixed similar issue in... Priston Tale ages ago for me.

Anyway trolling aside, I think this even will be really nice. Good luck to both teams. Props to UWE and ENSL crew for organizing this. Let's hope the event will be successful.

Its more about incentives than its about intelligence. Intelligence is a factor but you can fix the system on institutional level without trying to change IQ of population.

I think this climate science debate is waste of time. When a person is not accountable, he suddenly becomes an expert for signaling reasons. Not speaking of any oneself, just generally. Vis-a-vis Bayesian rationality, you're very likely to be wrong …
