  • When developers talk about "Quality of Life" updates, they're usually not referring to new game features (such as Darwin's list) but instead those little annoyances that pop up when you play the game. Such as having only one save slot per game.

This was a brand new game started yesterday after the Castle & Coffee update.
  • That's one of the reasons I put the game aside for several months. Expected that it would be finished about now (according to their original roadmap) and I would get to experience all the cool new stuff in official release.

    I've delibera…
  • I don't know the Surface Pro 3, but is there a control panel for the keyboard settings? Maybe the key assigned to toggling the backlight can be changed to something other than F3.
  • Added to note: Have just tried starting two new games and each one's log started at Day 1 as it should.

Not sure why my other attempt got screwed up. Only thing I remember doing differently was that, from the main menu, I deleted several…
  • From the thread title, I thought you hit the same bug I did a couple of days ago:

  • Not sure if this was available before (been away for a few months) but I was delighted to find a COMPASS in lifepod 7. Yippee!!!

I always thought it was weird that a survival pod wouldn't include a compass and we had to (eventually) craf…

If you stumble into it again sometime, try using the console command "Goto Base1". That takes you to the abandoned base in the middle of the island.
  • Press F1 and it's listed as the "Camera Position".

Way back when I suggested a new tab on your PDA that would work kind of like the Radio tab in Fallout 4's PipBoy -- you could "tune into" whichever beacon or signal you wanted and that would be the only visible one in the HUD (alon…
  • I think I was one of the ones most negatively affected by the previous Seamoth steering, and with the latest experimental update it's now very good!

Still not quite perfect, but totally useable for me, and it makes the exploration and re…

Very glad to hear that! To provide a comparison, I can "drive" the camera drones and it feels just fine. No queasy disorientation. It's only the Seamoth's view that rubber-bands disturbingly.
  • Awww, but gasopods make adorable pets for your base:

  • For many players (such as myself) it fixes the problem of not being able to build a MultiPurpose room, MoonPool, or Scanner room, where selecting the build menu icon did nothing -- no green ghost room or anything. Seemed to only happen if you start…
  • Today's update fixed the problem for me. Back to building! :)

Looks kind of like some of the textures' UV mapping was temporarily screwed up.
  • Cool idea!

    I'm sure Gromit appoves. ;)
  • Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Steam client itself? Just in case it's corrupted in some way.

  • Are all of these problem games installed via Steam? Maybe the issue is with your Steam client? Have you tried verifying the integrity of the local Steam files?

  • The "Blueprint" and "AllBlueprints" commands haven't worked for a while, but I think the "BobTheBuilder" cheat still works. However, it should give you all blueprints, not just the bed.

  • Danny, could this have happened because you carried forward an old save rather than starting a new game after the Power Nap update?

Edit: I just read above that you've sunk a lot of time into your current game, but I guess when playing a…

  • I think you're right that some people are more affected by the issue than others. Dunno what's behind the difference in perception, but I'm definitely in the "can't even use the Seamoth any more" camp.

But it may not be as simple to fix …
  • (Quote) Stellaris has it's Wiki integrated right into the game. Hit a button in the bottom-right corner and it pops up a browser window (themed so it looks like it's part of the game) displaying the current Wiki pages.
  • But only gasopods can fertilize your flowers. :)

  • (Quote) As has been pointed out, it's not quite as simple as that. Even ignoring all the other disciplines that go into it, making 3D assets is a different situation when you're trying to actually earn a living at it. Especially when you're re-wo…

  • The other side of putting all fragments in wrecks is that they are then in fixed, known locations. When the game is released it won't be long before somebody creates a list like the ones I've done previously that specify exactly where to go to find …
  • Well, back in that build, there were *two* lifepod number 3's. The other one was over in the Kelp Forest. Not sure if it's still there in the latest builds.

Maybe the devs changed it to fix that issue, maybe it's for upcoming story reaso…
  • You would also have to give up all the lovingly hand-crafted little touches the devs have created, like a desk hanging from a loose cable in the Mushroom Forest wreck, or that wreck in the Kelp Forest that you enter via a short tunnel through the ro…
  • I'm sure the devs at least glance at that part of the forum, but you know why the devs got into this biz? Because they have a TON of ideas themselves for games. More than they can ever hope to use. Most developers would love a chance to create one o…
