Subnautica fanatic here for the community and underwater deat-.... delights. Underwater delights.
Currently: Testing in experimental. Continuing to do my best to explore, and poke at things in order to see if they will explode.
Also, performing random tests on Reaper Leviathans. Just cuz.

I just checked my scanner room at the edge of the crash zone. The one that I screenshotted above?
The items that it is allowing me to search for are different. There isn't even a second page of them; I can only search for seven different… -

I should be so lucky! I could make a mint!

Sheesh! Where in the world is it placed that you managed to get to 98 degrees?

Huh! Weird. Maybe it's not showing up because I somehow managed to get them all in the area, but I didn't *think* I had. And I have my search chipped, so range shouldn't be an issue.
I'll have to try it in different areas. Weird. :P -
There are pictures of a *lot* of things that were never added to the game. It doesn't mean they used to exist; just that they exist in the game's data. Big difference here!
As for them adding a different texture, even if they added a dif… -
Planning to try building one in a couple different areas and seeing what shows up (and what doesn't) when I'm able to settle in. Hopefully I'll just find out that it's not able to find them because I just picked the area cleaner than I realized, but…

I'll be making one down in the Lost River later on, so I'll soon be able to tell you if it searches for those. I do know it doesn't search for warpers (alas!) and there seems to be 'Uraninite' missing from the list. At least the one I have in the tr…

As long as the Reaper is within range, I.E. active and spawned, the machine will track it.
The 'active and spawned' part is … -

Well, it *does* have a search for 'Reaper Leviathan'.
And FWIW, my above is also an outdated stat… -

...... wait, did you say *lead*?

Rise from your grave!
.... er, I mean....
The Scanner Room's UI has been updated recently.
.... to one that's a little prettier, and that has the *start* of a scrollbar, but that doesn't actually let you scroll to… -
Scanner rooms *can* find large resource deposits, though. I have mine picking out the lithium deposits and I'm searching for lithium.
You scan for the particular resource that it's hunting for, and it picks up the large deposits as well … -
Battery chargers are basically free; they eat up so little energy and are so cheap to make that to me it seems sillier *not* to put a charger in each base. You could practically recharge your batteries off a mouse on a treadmill.Ruby, as far as I know, has *never* been in a drillable state. Neither has sulphur.
However, both sulphur and ruby exist as things you can just pick up off the ground as single items. You don't *have* to grind for them in RNG chunks of s…I would like to add: single and/or two by two squared pots or growbeds of some sort that you could place outside your base instead of just the ones inside (basically 'plant pots' for outside).
I would very much like to frame my doorways …It's a bit frustrating. There are gold deposits. There are silver deposits. Both of those can be gathered as part of drilling, so if you are in need of a bunch of them, you *can* get them elsewhere (albeit probably going to have to do some heavy exp…Just checking because I know Xbox had a bunch of loading game issues for a while.I didn't test this with solar panels. Just the thermals. I suspected it might work with solar panels, but since I had the materials for thermals in my inventory (because they're the ones I cheated in after having my others destroyed; screw that!) th…What platform is this on?(Quote)
It does. If you pass by one, you get indicated that it should be scanned. When you scan it, you get the following information:
"Assessment: Edible - Aerogel construction applications"
@Belgarel Another organic thing that won't go in the bioreactor: Blood Oil is not considered bioreactor fuel.At least unlike Moirai, the time capsules are interactable and not a necessary part of the game. If you don't want to interact with them, you don't need to.
There could be an option to turn them off, certainly. However, consider this: if…For a moment, I read this as 'reapers'. That would have been horrifying!(Quote)
And that would be the exact reason I moved my original placement of the scanner, actually. Stalkers playing football with my cameras.
The 'infinite cameras' thing that @garath mentioned may be something you want to check into as well.
You can get cameras by removing them from the base, dis…@0x6A7232: Yep. That's exactly how I sent him flying; he kept going through his swimming around in the shallows, would intersect the ground as I knocked him around, a…(Quote)
Fortunately, but you can turn pings on and off, or move things as needed.Still haven't managed to actually *kill* him, but I *did* manage to get him to display what happens if you chase him around enough. In screenshot format. Seen here:
