Yeag. Ignoring public games is like what, ignoring the majority of the player base? As much people like to think there is only competivieness, the public portion is much larger.
I also think what in competitive vs public balance Comment by Omega_K2 March 2014 -
Use Shine Admin and turn it's AFK kicking on, problem solved. It also should prevent AFKs from being randomized into teams

@simple_ there are good and bad examples of this in the game.
Bad example is the GL, because it has a intended _different_ role as anti-structure.

Get perfect aim at another game, have sucky aim in ns2 cause you're not used to the mouse lag, lag comp and fps rollercoaster.
On somewhat equal terms certain skills can translate to other games. -

It's pretty to look at. Good job.

F2P is also a server admin's nightmare. Unbannable Trolls.
Though I guess one could do more playtime filtering to combat that, would still be an issue on rookie/unlimited servers.
And I agree that F2P games … -

Your post could be more structured and there are more arguments missing.
I'm hoping for a NS3 that doesn't repeat the same mistakes (with their small team at the time to create such a huge game is large effort), by now they should have t… -
Best tip: use 3.4 to get banned from turnaments for bad sportmanship and attitude. In general that section, it implies that anything is okay as long you do it in order to win, so might as well cheat, use nasty exploits or poison people's food in a t…

(Quote) That's completely false, CS has several hundred entities too, and can go beyond that 1000 with a modded server or custom maps; for example, a quick test on semi-vanilla (no mods that change entites) with 24 people on css dust2 shows an en…

Gonna update the OP with some of the proposed ideas on how to fix GL.

Wat. See the topic dates, some date back as far as 2012, and build 250 came out 8 months ago.
GL has been an issue since the beta, the antistruct… -

UWE server software is rather broken, it's pretty normal at this point to the server to crash on map change occasionally, been like this for months and they never bothered to fix it. If it's the same issue you're having this is pro… -

You already have one of the best CPUs for this game and on the market. So in other words, unless you do extreme overclocking you won't get that framerate. A new CPU won't do much, only at stock speeds you'd see a minor increase. -
It's probably gonna fixed in the next patch if we are lucky, or never like the memory corruption.

Answer to all those: large AoE Damage player, invisible/barely visbile nades, NS2's netcode/feedback delay (which means you can and will get hit by nades BEFORE you see them or have a chance to react) -> people getting killed by… -

I think most people know the problem becomes worse with higher players; I play 18 o. 22.
Don't want to end up as this is meant to be 6v6 and it's not an issue blah blah sitatuon, cause most people don't even play that w… -
Yes, it keeps happening randomly. Seems to be cause of red plugs.
So, poor website and poor handling in server code.

To be fair the only map I'd adjust is docking; removing alien spawn in locker if marines spawn in cafe.
Also adjustment the spawn in biodome, it feels like aliens spawn at a 80% rate in platform. -
Probably because it takes a bunch of effort to do so and I don't see UWE putting that kind of effort into the game. Also the lua portion would also need to have support for multi-cpu.
The server uses roughly 1.3 cores, which is pretty ri… -
Look on the ENSL homepage; start from the config there.

It should show an avarage tickrate of the last minute or so.
It doesn't lie, it only shows the performance at the point it was fetched for that server, if you click on the server in the list it updates and shows the current value, … -
caused by ns2's lag compensation. You've never really been to the other side of the pg :P

It can also happen with no packet loss and low latency -
the player list ingame is broken now, it shows "unknown" for every player, even if fully connected; network queries work correctly.

Regarding OP, I prefered beta fades, 200HP/50 armor, invul/highly reduced dmg while blink, decent structure dmg, more mobile, and disable vortex (disabled structures, or the later version which disabled marines from doing and taking any damage).
Is it allowed to advertise in this forum now?

the idea isn't exactly new, such servers have never seen much traffic. I have such a "PRO…(Quote)
Again, make a script that changes map to fix that problem for you. Don't count on UWE fixing things in a timely manner, not gonna happen.Regarding "time and effort"
I don't see why this shold be priorized over anything that affects *MORE* users and other issues, i.e why not work on a more parallized portion ("multi-threaded") in NS2 so everyone with a multicore processor benefi…I'd call it "Organized Match (6vs6)" because it explains what it does most accurately. Shows what team size format is played, shows that it is organized as opposed to randomly hopping into an game, and it shows it's a single match.
Ofc it does…Edit: I noticed that the providers were edited out,and that's a bad idea. So people renting servers with bad performance in ns2 is wanted by the mods?
