Mouse Sensitivities
Underwhelmed

Just curious what everybody here plays at. I'm currently using 90 degrees/inch for marines, and 120 degrees/inch for aliens. It used to be a lot higher though, like double that. You can physically measure how much you need to move your mouse to complete a circle, and do some math to find your sensitivity, or you can calculate it with:
Mouse DPI * Windows Multiplier * m_pitch or m_yaw * sensitivity = Degrees/Inch.
A windows multiplier table can be found <a href="http://razerblueprints.net/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=99&topic=5805.0" target="_blank">here</a>, and the registry value can be found in your registry at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Mouse.
Please don't just post your in-game sensitivity, because that tells us absolutely nothing.

doesnt seem quite right because that looks awfully high compared to you
(i.e. 90 degrees/inch on aliens, 36 degrees/inch on marines)
Edit: Though since sensitivity is proportional to field of view, the skulk sensitivity is 7/6 the nominal alien sensitivity, and gorge sensitivity is 10/9 the same.

800 * 10 * 0.022 *3.3-4.3 = 500-750 degrees/inch?

Where does the 10 come from? According to the table linked in the original post, Windows mouse sensitivity only scales between 1/32 and 7/2. If your Windows mouse sensitivity is 10, the scaling factor is 1.
800 * 1 * .022 * 5 = 88 degrees/inch, for both teams. That's just what I've used since my recent reformat though, I don't know what it was before.
10^-33 radians per Planck length on aliens, 4*10^-34 radians per Planck length on marines.

lol guys im even cooler than the other pts comprox might not have played since 1.04 but damn he's got nothing on you
6/11 win sens
windows accel
no drivers
400 dpi MS Wheel Mouse Optical
poll at 500
640*480
100 refresh rate (affects windows accel)
formula is inaccurate for me comes out to 13.2 degrees when in reality base sens without accel is more like 21.
here's what I really want to know:
<b>what are Makaveli's SetPoint settings?</b> I know the guy uses an mx518, but it's the driver settings that make his unique. What DPI setting? Do you tell setpoint to give mouse control to "SetPoint" or "System"? If you let SetPoint control mouse movement, what (if any) acceleration mode do you use? Do you use the CPL fix?
I currently use a MS Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 with no drivers and mouse accel ON. I wish there were an easy way to toggle accel on for marines, and off for aliens.
So, does anyone else intentionally use acceleration? If so, what mouse/drivers/dpi do you use?
Unless something changed recently makavelli uses some 400dpi ms ball mouse with windows accel I believe.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
he's told me mx518.. anyway, detailed settings of any of the upper-echelon cal vets would be interesting, especially mak's
500 usb polling rate
maccel off
39.5 deg/inch marines
61.6 deg/inch aliens
windows accel

You may or may not have taken this into account, but 6/11 on the sensitivity slider corresponds to MouseSensitivity 12.
MouseSensitivity is a registry value at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Mouse
The sensitivity slider skips some of the values, which is why it has 11 rather than 20 settings.

I didn't use anything special - just an mx518 with the sensitivity mentioned above and no acceleration.
70.4 Deg/Inch for Skulk
123 Deg/Inch for Lerk
Why would you pay for something made by micro$oft? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />

thanks, for some reason i read a 10 instead of a 1 off that table :u
makes sense now

Well something like 95%+ of CPL players use either the intellimouse explorer 3.0 or the MS wheel mouse optical. Lift off distance/shape/ability to handle high speeds.

Mak uses a fat pad I sent him and a lower/medium sensitivity with accel.
Most people use a medium sensitivity with no accel.
Yumosis used 24 degrees no accel.
Pneumatic Crab(best aim in ns) and Cloud King used 26 degrees with windows accel at 100 or 120 refresh rate.
I've used from 16 degrees to 42 degrees and just use the 20 degrees with windows accel at 100 refresh now.
Jmmsbnd uses something in the 20s I believe.
wzza was better

how does the screen refresh rate affect mouseaccel?

cute, that's basically identical to what my setup already was, right down to the driverless 6/11 setting, 100hz refresh rate (vsync on) and 500hz usb polling. (msie 3.0 and MWO optical trackers are the same equipment in different casing.)
I really should remove mouse accel but i cba <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> also when I used to play Q2 online I was using sensitivities as low as 10deg/inch (I had likea metre of deskspace, was pretty fun lol)
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
how do you manage to rocketjump with that :O

"cant be arsed", oh whinge on you yobbish prat
assuming you don't have any fancy drivers, just install the <a href="http://files.filefront.com/CPL_Mouse_Fix/;3930694;;/fileinfo.html" target="_blank">cpl mouse fix</a>, restart, and the perceived problem ceases to exist.

I own that same mouse! though i do own a copy of his configs too so i might have to take a look and see how his work <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/nerd-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::nerdy::" border="0" alt="nerd-fix.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/nerd-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::nerdy::" border="0" alt="nerd-fix.gif" />
Though my sens is as follows:
193.6 degrees/inch for alien
202.4 degrees/inch
i have a c0pperhead 2K dpi mouse, and the RINE, and aliens setting is Equals.
no differents between 2 forces.
console Sens : 3.2

Then apparently you have a config file that allows that, mine changes depending on the team i go to as do most of the people here.
