Problems with custom content not appearing in 3.2
Ok, this is an issue that has come up in IRC, and, to some extent, in tech support. Which is the reason why I'm venturing into previously unknown territory (This section of the forum <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />) to ask...
Has the naming system changed for 3.2? A few people are reporting that their custom content no longer shows, even after replacing them in the NS folder.
Basically, I've just spent like the last 2 1/2 hours doing a massive post in tech support, which needs the above question answered with an official response, which I'll be adding to the sticky, found here.

Backup any skins, models, sprites and sounds (including my config.cfg and userconfig.cfg) from 3.1.3
Install vanilla 3.2, play it a few minutes to bind my keys and such via the ingame Options menu
Copied over my custom stuff from my 3.1.3 backup into my 3.2 install
Took note of what worked, and what did not work. What did work, I left in. What didn't work I found the files and replaced them with their 3.2 default's.
At that point you basically have to just use the 3.2 defaults on things that won't really work that are custom. That is until you can find a way to make them work or update them. A good example is plenty of us have had issues with custom crosshairs from 3.1.3, that no longer work in 3.2 and also leave you without crosshairs at all. (For that I again copied over the 3.2 default files for crosshairs, so now I have crosshairs but they are just the default game ones not ones I want).
The real solutions are making the files you want compatible with 3.2 or contacting their creator's and asking if they can update those files.
I run NS totally vanilla. Unfortunately, not everyone does, and they've lost the use of their custom stuff. What I've been spending 2 1/2 hours doing tonight, is making a summary post for Tech Support, to stop people spamming the ish out of that section with the same ###### request, over and over again. I asked for an OFFICIAL response.
When I need your opinion, I'll ask you for it...
I understand your point I think and is the same problem that I'm trying to fix in my thread: http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index....howtopic=100735
Is that the kind of thing you are talking about Lt_Patch? If so please reply in my topic and let's work together on a solution. We won't be the only people.
