This would probably be more reasonable than the system of "using" hives to teleport to other hives. It would also be more useful and possibly would make the game more interesting for the alien team by boosting their tech.

So, marines can go and ninja a hive but aliens can't ninja marine start just because they're aliens? What kind of argument is that? And how does a phasetech-like structure make the teams exactly the same? Way to apply the hyperbole.

Marines are alot less mobile than the alien team. They need PG to respond to certain areas.
Aliens have this, but it comes in the form of a chamber and only warps between hives.

Ok, actually I said this in a different topic. Nevertheless, you completely missed my point.
Just because marines are a lot less mobile, doesn't mean that they (but not the aliens) should have the ability to concentrate all of their firepower on a specific part of the map.
-Aliens and marines are supposed to be different
-"PGs" in vents could be quite nasty
-Marines are supposed to try to control the map with their firepower, aliens teleporting behind the lines would make the game quite boring since the fighting wouldn't be focused on the few areas much.
