I noticed there might have been hitbox problems too, what HL Mod doesn't have Hitbox Problems?
When I was slashing resourse nodes I noticed the same problem as you Kilmster. I also suspect that it occurs with all structures. Sometimes I'll be chomping away at a T-Fac knowing I am doing damage and then I'll look up a bit to watch for Marines, my mouth would still be chomping the T-Fac but because I'm looking up a bit I can't see the Health Bar. After chomping for what seems like an unusually long time I look down at the Health bar to find that I have not done any more damage to it since I shifted my view.
My mouth was still chomping over the T-Fac but just in a different, slightly higher place.
Seems to me like it's a hitbox thing. I haven't noticed any obvious cases of Hitbox problems with the Player Models but I have experienced what I would call questionable defeats after I've chomped on a motionless Marine half a dozen times and then he turns around and kills me.
I say suspected cause I'm not perfect with the Skulk, I'm good in spurts but I'm not consistant enough to claim that it is a hitbox problem... just throwing it out there though.
I have noticed the crouching one the other day and when it came to bile bomb I thought I was doing it wrong or they were healing it or something. Here is a pic of what a parasite kill looks like(from me, heh) and the person on the bottom isn't me nor is the one who got killed but still, nice to see health spray kills.
i noticed from the screenshot that u aimed rather low at the turret... bilebomb has a weird projectile, i'd normally have to aim a little higher than u did in the ss to hit anything even as close as that turret. shrug anything farther away i've to aim pretty high for it to land on the enemies.

Bilebomb vs struktures is indeed bugged. My guess would be someone mixed up multiplication with division. Instead of doubling the normal damage it halves it.
a similer event for marines i've seen watched as 3 seige turrets attack a cluster of chambers and none sustain any dammage. I go at the thing with a GL and use up 30 grenades on it to no avail, they stay perfectly intact (while the seige is still pounding it). So i grab an HMG and the chambers fall 1 after another very fast.
This seems to be a post about ppl having no idea what they are doing or have no patience what so ever..............bile bombs work fine , just sit back and level a base. Takes a while but hey , it gets the job done. As a fade I get most of my kills from using the bile bomb.
And as for the siege cannons and alien structures , how many def chambers are around those offensive chambers?
10RoUNdTOmMYgUN, please don't make assumptions like that, I have seen bile bombs do nothing to structures myself even after many attacks, I have seen siege turrets attack a single structure many times without damaging it, and myself get killed by the splash damage, just because it works some of the time, doesn't mean it does all of the time.
Heh, thought I was crazy. Whenever I used acid rockets though, I took down turrets and stuff eventually, but the bile bomb seemed like it didn't do anything.

Bile Bomb used to do a huge radius of splash damage. You had to be very tricky on where you threw it, because most of the time you would sustain atleast a little damage from your own bile bomb. Now you have to be VERY close to get damage. Does this possibly have anything to do with it? Also acid rocket DOES kill structures i use it to take out turrets.
Yeah, I was using Acid Rockets on structures, and Bile Bombs on marines, because when I went to attack the marine base, like 3 of them would come out, and I had adrenaline, so I'd just sit there and toss a crapload of Bile Bombs at them while they tried rushing me and it usually got them pretty good.
yes , i have spammed a base with xenocide and i didnt even seem to kill one building .. it was strange.
i have also noticed that as an onos i have difficulty hitting turrets sometimes , ill hit it a couple of times and do damage , then for 3 or 4 hits after that it stops doing damage . if ic an get some screens of that i will post them.
i seemed to be able to get turrets easy with bilebomb in v1 but in v1.01 it has seemed to be near impossible. I have hit turrets twice of what i hit in v1 and they have lost about 2 chunks of energy.

Ok, it seems some people can do damage, but the vast majority are unable to damage structures with bile bomb. Someone mentioned using ONLY the splash damage, IE hitting the ground to the side of the structure. I will test that today.

I will also try to find a non-turret building to test. Possibly its just an issue with turret hitboxes. After all, you usually only use bile on turrets, everything else can be taken out faster (and with less energy expenditure) using swipe.
Sadly I too have been experiencing this problem. I have more than a few time dropped tens and tens of bile bombs on all kind of marine structures from a safe location widouth ever destroying them. It's kind of annoying since it's supposed to be the weapon of choice against structures and so far a skulk with chewing them is still the way I go if I need to get rid of them. But for turret farms... lets just say its not working too well.
in my experience, AR and BB do SOMETHING even though it takes a painfully long time. one observation ive made about these assults on T-Farms: most of these cases are solo acts. im just saying, ive attacked a marine outpost with two other fades(so there were three Fades attacking). the three of us took that whole place out in less than a minute. but if i had tried to do it alone, it would have taken 5+ minutes. i think the key is, these weapons were not meant to be insta-kill sinper weapons. they are aids in a attack. like they say "no ones a Rambo". i dont know if this will work for everyone. but, try a combined assult and see how the results change. i mean, the aliens strength lies in their diversity.

Never, i dont think you understand fully. Its not like i just have to hit it more, or that i should have had support. Bile bomb just doesn't do damage to buildings, or if it does, its on the order of 10-20 damage per hit. It certainly doesn't do what the manual says it does, which is 160 damage to buildings. Seige turrets have (i think) 2000 hp. I hit it with 7 bile bombs, which should be 1120 damage. Thats HALF the turrets hp, and in the game its hp didn't budge by one bit. Dont you think theres a bug somewhere?
Ok, once again, i tested both acid rocket and bile bomb. With acid rocket everything seems to be ok. 50 dmg with direct hit, slightly lower with splash dmg. Bile bomb on the other hand does only half its normal dmg (80) against structures instead of double. Both with direct hit and slightly reduced with splash dmg. So its just a thing of halving the dmg instead of doubling it. It now does 40 dmg on direct hit to structures but it should do 160 to structures. So of course you can destroy buildings with it but it takes forever (and you are better of with ar).

i think a combined 3 xenocide blasts (or 1 after another) is enough to destroy the building it's point blank at, as well as do enough splash damage to destroy most anything around 1000 hp
How about someone set up a game by themselves and use both the bile bomb and acid rocket on some marines structures and RECORD A DEMO for us so we can see what is going on?
It might be a bug, but it might also be on purpose, kinda like how seige cannons can only target buildings directly and only deal unit damage via splash.

Thats a tad overkill. Right now, it's established that they're bugged. And it seems Flayra misplaced a decimal point somewhere. So, let's wait until this is fixed. I haven't seen it ruin many games yet, just cause annoyances.
I've also seen bile bomb working correctly against turrets, so its not a simple bug, it certainly works sometimes, but other times it doesn't...
seems the explosive/acid dammage is bugged.
