Not in Canada, but I've never found a better host than servage. They're up to 310GB storage, 3000GB monthly transfer.

Since yesterday, I had started to look at some Canadian hosting sites and even talked to sales people. On those I checked so far (2-3 of them), none had a local Montreal store where I could directly go and pay 1-2 years in advance. They are asking for credit cards or PayPal. I have neither. I had a personnal bankrupted 5 years ago so credit card are most likely out of reach (there could be exceptions but I lost my job and my current salary is 50% of what I used to make).

So that being said, I need a good hosting site that would allow payments in other means then CC. As for Paypal, somehow I do not even trust them. I keep receiving emails saying I have an account but I don't !!!

I want to host my personnal site for portfolio, status on my projects, have blogs and maybe practice Java, Perl, PHP, Database programming.

But as life goes on, what we want versus what we can (in time and resource wise) is something different. So I may wind up not having one for a while also. Who knows !

I can't imagine why you wouldn't trust paypal :/ . The things you get as Email are just phishing scams, I would reccomend getting a new email address if you want to avoid them, apparently your current one doesn't have good spam detection. I doubt you will ever find a server hosting place that has a "Store" or anything close to that. I would just setup a paypal account and link it to your bank account, and use that. You do have a bank account right? Possibly apply for a debit card?
