It's too bad it's the Playstation version, so it's missing a lot of stuff from the Sega CD (or was it Saturn?) version, including an extra playable character and a few relics. Still, it's great. The sound is even a bit higher quality than the PS1 version. It's about time one of the best Castlevania games became more readily available.

PSP
+ SOTN Widescreen
+ The Prequel to SOTN redone in 3d
+ The original version of the prequel
= Awesomeness

At frist I was like "pshh whatev" but...Yeah. I'm actually impressed. I don't see any feasible downside, except that they're redoing the voices and dialogue? Come on! I mean..

That is probably the geekiest thing I've ever watched, so sad.

Becuase it's not a D-pad at all, it's an analogue stick that pretends to be a D-pad, the reason this sucks, is that it combines the two bad things of the D-pad and the Analogue stick. Or at least, removes the advantage of the D-pad.
The advantage of the D-pad is that by simplifying the input to up-down-left-right, you get very precise input that awesome for pulling off moves in fighting games (as you have to press a certain combination of above). problem is, on an analogue stick, pressing it to the left for instance, often (read pretty much always) has up or down in said motion, meaning that you, unknowingly, press a wrong direction, thus screwing up the input. The advantage of the Analogue stick over the D-pad is of course it's ability to recieve different levels of movement, thus allowing to more easily move a cursor (or an aiming reticle), or let you walk instead of run... This is of course not present in the X360 "D-pad", so yeah, has the worst of the two control methods, and none of the good :/.
I can't count the times I either failed to pull off a spell or cast a wrong one due to the crap D-pad.
