A somber feeling fell over everyone after the death of <b>the_x5</b>. It was quite clear what had happened-<b>the_x5</b> had been murdered by the portal's trap. Some of the wizards found comfort in knowing that he had acted rashly by touching the portal. “It couldn't have happened to us,” they thought. The who was, unfortunately, too obvious. Freak83. He was the only person who had any chance of activating the portal, and his disappearance made it clear. How he did it was still unknown. While it was rumored that he knew how to activate the portal-he had, after all, devoted a great deal of time to studying it, how had it done it without anyone noticing? The portal was an immensely powerful object and would have undoubtedly required large amounts of energy to open. Yet, no one had sensed anything. Freak83 had somehow gotten to the portal room unnoticed-and the patrols certainly went there, activated it, teleported through, and the strangest thing, closed it. That he was able to remotely close the portal suggests that the mages understood it even less than they thought. And that raises the question-could the portal be remote opened? Apparently not, after all, had that been possible demons would have invaded and overrun the place long ago. And finally, how did Freak83 trap the portal with a spell powerful enough to instantly kill a powerful mage, and yet be completely undetected. This whole situation was very confusing.
The most difficult question of all was why. Why did Freak83 go through the portal, and why did he trap it with a spell that killed the first person to touch it. Was he running from something? There was nothing for him to run from. Perhaps he had some other motive. But what?
...
The mages had all gone to sleep after an intense debate. As usual, <b>Chocolate</b> woke early to go and prepare the day's breakfast. He knew that the power of food was not to be underestimated. They all needed something to cheer them up after this untimely death. Perhaps a cake. Cake was always good.
<b>Chocolate</b> entered the kitchen. He would start the cake-it would probably be finished by mid to end day. Making the cake consisted of conjuring up the ingredients(he had written the recipe down on the back of a fire spellbook) and mixing them in a bowl. He then conjured up a pocket of heat and placed the raw cake inside it. Despite the ability to level cities, no one has ever figured out how to quickly cook something and still make it taste good. Just a reminder to everyone, you can still be revived assuming the Priest wants to revive you.
Though of course, if you die you are still dead and cannot and shouldn't talk of anything about the game<i>(besides saying goodbye or nice game, etc, like what chocolate said)</i>.

Ok, so the 2 newbies are dead, that Kinda sucks... (for them, first game and the first 2 deaths)
So, some random thoughts: 1) Killing Chocolate really doesn't tell us much, I am curious as to WHY they would kill off a newbie instead of an experienced player like im_lost (who chocolate voted for), EMP, petco, or anyone else. My only thought is that they read into <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?s=3936313418503577600&showtopic=90852&view=findpost&p=1619323" target="_blank">This</a> post of Chocolate's, and labeled him as a Roll (personally I would have tbh)
2) Should the Priest Rez Chocolate now? It makes sense for the priest to rez the first wolfing just to make sure that the Rez gets spent. The flipside is that the wolves have probably also thought of this and there is the CHANCE that they killed one of their own night one. I personally think the priest should spend the rez on chocolate right now, and here are my reasons:
A) with only 3 wolves, killing off one is a BIG gamble to take on the priest using his rez on the night one death (and unfortunately the psychic can not confirm this as they get their PM before the wolves kill if I am remembering correctly). B) Only one of the 2 Deaths could be a Wolf at this point (no one is stupid enough to nock them selves down to 1 wolf on the hope of a priest rez). C) The priest should thus rez either X5 or Chocolate, just to make sure the rez gets spent. D) I think it is more likely that we killed a wolf Day 1, then the wolves sacrificed one of their own Night 2.
Thus Chocolate should get the Rez. (Of course I could be a wolf trying to pull off the exact ploy I described, but that is the argument against everything <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />)
3) Now that our Seer (I hope he isn't dead) has either a network to start, or a wolf to sight on. so for now I will stay my vote.
Ninja Merged post (probably):
Addendum to D: <!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->D) I think it is more likely that we killed a wolf Day 1 <b>then the wolves killing one of their own</b>, then the wolves sacrificed one of their own Night 2.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
second ninja addendum. I need to stop posting when I am dead tired, that last addendum was pointless!
It'd be a crazy risk for wolves to kill one of their own. The priest shouldn't resurrect lynched players either, it's "safer" to resurrect the players that were wolved. Wolved people have a less chance of being wolves themselves due to the risk of killing their own.

On a random note.
I am just going to put this out here.
Petco's and Theslan's actions look a tad bit suspicious.
They both vote for each other early on (and both eventually end up with 2 votes). After they both have 2 votes they bandwagon onto x5 with in 2 mins (who had 0 votes), and end up getting him lynched.
Now, this could have been self preservation on both of their parts. Possibly even a planed nice self preservation (they didn't bandwagon onto some one with a vote already), however they don't say anything about that, and it could also just be wolves trying to kill some one with out raising to much suspicion.
Again, I am not really pointing fingers and calling wolf here, just pointing out some patterns that I noticed.
I noticed what Petco and Theslan did too, I just took it to be self-preservation more than anything else.
As far as why Chocolate died, I can only assume that the wolves thought he might have had a role. That has been the basis for the wolf targets early on in most games, anyway. A more experienced target would make more sense otherwise. Based on <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?s=2376450048980115968&showtopic=101075&view=findpost&p=1619396" target="_blank">this post</a>, Chocolate seemed potentially like a manipulable newbie, someone the wolves should keep around. Whatever the reason, it doesn't help us find any wolves.
Seeing as how we can't get much useful from the lynching of someone that didn't vote, or from last night's wolfing, and the seer (if alive) hasn't given us anything to work with, I am once again resorting to random.org.
9 5 8 7 1 8 9 2 5
This list has two 9s, 8s, and 5s, so I use random.org again (with 1=5, 2=8, 3=9):
1 1 1
This leads me to vote for <b>Ana</b>.
I'll be gone for most of tomorrow (2-hour job interview, 2-hour drive each way, visiting family while there).

Hey, I was working on numbers a bit and I figgured I would toss them out for everyone to play with
Assuming the worst (X5 and Chocolate are human) we are at 9-3 We have 3 days remaining (counting today) to kill a wolf. Each wolf kill will net us 1 extra day. 2 Guardian saves will net us 1 extra day. The priest resurrection can be substituted for a guardian save for netting us an extra day. A Guardian Save/Priest Resurrection will net us an extra day if we also bag a Wolf (on top of the one for the Wolf Kill).
umm, yah. (all references to days are obviously based on in game time)
Ya know, going back to that interesting voting pattern at the end of day one, it sure would be convenient if Petco, Theslan, and Eternaly were the three wolves. The first two got together to save themselves, and the third just hopped right on that bandwagon, saying that he'd change his vote if the inactive showed up within 20 minutes.
Anyway, I don't know if they're wolves or just trying to survive, but I'll stick my vote on <b>Eternaly_Lost</b> for now.
ThansalThe New ScumJoin Date: 2002-08-22Member: 1215Members, Constellation
I saw E_Lost's vote change as well, however it is honestly the least suspicious to me. With only 20 mins left in the day there wasn't much chance that anything would change.
Again, still holding out on my vote for some sorta actual information....
ThansalThe New ScumJoin Date: 2002-08-22Member: 1215Members, Constellation
GAHHHH!!!!
I compleatly messed up my number (I should not post at night).
We only have 2 days to kill a wolf, COUNTING today.
We are probably at <b>6</b>-3 atm. (not 9-3, b/c I am an idiot) The Priest Rez or Guardian save will gain us 1 day. 1 Wolf kill will also gain us a day. Combined (priest rez/save + Wolf Kill) will gain us 2 days in total. a Rez + a save will also gain us 2 days. 2 wolf kills will also gain us 2 days.
Numbers changed slightly because we currently have an even number of humans instead of an odd number.
umm, yah.
Ninja Addendum.
Priest, if you are alive, PLEASE bring back chocolate, it should help alot.
Also, at this point we have probably already lost a Roll (4 in 8 chance x5 was a Roll, and 4 or 3 in 7 chance Chocolate was a Roll)

My reasoning is as follows.
X5 had not voted.
He had 2 votes on him, just about every one else had 1 vote.
He had the ablitly to cast a last min vote to make anyone else have a 50% chance at dieing.
That was something that I could have seen a wolf using.
I changed my vote so that he would die, if he try a last min vote by himself ( very wolfish action ).
Had he voted soon after I moved my vote, I would have moved it back.
That said, I cast my vote on <b>Nightstalker</b>, in repayment for last turn. No one is saying anything on irc. Were are all of you guys?

I can't decide who to vote! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />
You forgot that I can still vote too. :P But, as I'm still unsure as who's theory to trust and who's not to trust, I'm going to go to random.org again. The one it picked was <b>Petco</b>.
So, Thansal (/me double checks that I got the right name), you claim I'm a wolf, but you give no reason why anyone should believe you. I don't know what type of response I can really have for that, or how people are supposed to decide whether or not to believe you. Maybe other people will have other input or questions to help this move along.
I'll take the bait. I'll also vote for <b>im_lost</b>, and hope that the psychic can confirm whether he is wolf or not. It could be possible that the psychic dead, and the wolves are on the offensive doing a fake psychic move (since they know when the psychic is dead), but it is better than this random.org stuff.
At least we'll get information instead of trying to be nice to everyone and making random.org accusations.
Well, as I can tell, im_lost or Theslan is a wolf.
Thansal called out im_lost as wolf. He claims that it was seer related.
Based on a unbiased person, (micro) he told me to trust Thansal, therefore, I think that <b>im_lost</b> is a wolf.
If the psychic could confirm this, then im_lost is a wolf, or we have a fake seer-psychic combo. If we do not get a wolf, that means that Thansal is a fake seer, and therefore is a wolf.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec--> 04/12 13:14:06 <+Eternaly_lost> im going to go with an unbias pick 04/12 13:14:17 <+Eternaly_lost> Namely, I ask my friend to pick one of the two 04/12 13:14:42 <@im_lost> so basically, the equivalent of random.org 04/12 13:14:54 <+Eternaly_lost> yep <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> From that, I figured you meant someone you knew in real life, that knew nothing about TWG, maybe even nothing about NS. Just a reminder to everyone, you can still be revived assuming the Priest wants to revive you.
Though of course, if you die you are still dead and cannot and shouldn't talk of anything about the game<i>(besides saying goodbye or nice game, etc, like what chocolate said)</i>.
So, some random thoughts:
1) Killing Chocolate really doesn't tell us much, I am curious as to WHY they would kill off a newbie instead of an experienced player like im_lost (who chocolate voted for), EMP, petco, or anyone else.
Addendum to D:
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->D) I think it is more likely that we killed a wolf Day 1 <b>then the wolves killing one of their own</b>, then the wolves sacrificed one of their own Night 2.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
second ninja addendum. I need to stop posting when I am dead tired, that last addendum was pointless!
9 5 8
7 1 8
9 2 5
This list has two 9s, 8s, and 5s, so I use random.org again (with 1=5, 2=8, 3=9):
1 1 1
This leads me to vote for <b>Ana</b>.
I'll be gone for most of tomorrow (2-hour job interview, 2-hour drive each way, visiting family while there).
I just roll 1 number and take that (unless I forget and then I just take the 1st number).
and I agree, it is a good chance it is just self preservation, but the timing is a bit odd.
Assuming the worst (X5 and Chocolate are human) we are at 9-3
We have 3 days remaining (counting today) to kill a wolf.
Each wolf kill will net us 1 extra day.
2 Guardian saves will net us 1 extra day.
The priest resurrection can be substituted for a guardian save for netting us an extra day.
A Guardian Save/Priest Resurrection will net us an extra day if we also bag a Wolf (on top of the one for the Wolf Kill).
umm, yah. (all references to days are obviously based on in game time)
Anyway, I don't know if they're wolves or just trying to survive, but I'll stick my vote on <b>Eternaly_Lost</b> for now.
Again, still holding out on my vote for some sorta actual information....
I compleatly messed up my number (I should not post at night).
We only have 2 days to kill a wolf, COUNTING today.
We are probably at <b>6</b>-3 atm. (not 9-3, b/c I am an idiot)
The Priest Rez or Guardian save will gain us 1 day.
I'm just wondering about one thing myself...
<!--QuoteBegin-Thansal+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Thansal)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->I saw E_Lost's vote change as well, however it is honestly the least suspicious to me. With only 20 mins left in the day there wasn't much chance that anything would change.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
E_Lost's vote confuses me quite a bit, considering that he said he might change it... within twenty minutes? On top of that, x5 already had two votes on him to one on a whole ton of other people. Had E_Lost kept his vote on Xentor, nothing would've changed, so why change it in the first place?
I'd like to hear his own reason for this, so I'm going to vote <b>Eternaly_Lost</b> until he does.
Vote Tally:
Eternaly_Lost(2) - Xentor, EMP Demon
Ana (1) - im_lost
Left to vote:
Eternaly_Lost
Thansal
Nightstalker
im_lost
Petco
Theslan
Unless I missed any votes, that's the correct tally. (Whee for less activity than XI! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />)
Damn You im_lost!
There's actually 28 hours left in the day.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Well, I assumed the normal 2-day day instead of reading. gg me? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />
All right, I've been waiting, there's almost four and a half hours left, and no real information has come up besides Thansal's count of the number of days left.

And we REALLY have to get a wolf kill today or tomorrow, so this should guarantee it.
<b>im_lost</b> is a wolf. I will lead this and put my life on the line for it.
I am willing to further discus this in IRC.

04/12 13:14:06 <+Eternaly_lost> im going to go with an unbias pick
04/12 13:14:17 <+Eternaly_lost> Namely, I ask my friend to pick one of the two
04/12 13:14:42 <@im_lost> so basically, the equivalent of random.org
04/12 13:14:54 <+Eternaly_lost> yep

From that, I figured you meant someone you knew in real life, that knew nothing about TWG, maybe even nothing about NS. Instead, you picked someone that has played before, knows the players involved (at least to some extent), and may have even read through some of this game.

Technically this doesn't violate that rule, but it seems to me that it violates the spirit of it...
I'll just leave it at that.

Addendum to post: Those quotes above are supposed to show that the first one came from IRC discussion, and the second one came from the rules thread. Apparently the name attribute of quotes uses ' instead of " (I think that's why it didn't work right, anyway).
