if this was added then it would seriously be too similar to the infested terran from start craft, and theres already way to many starcraft rip-off ideas in these forums.

i really like the idea of controlling a mutated marine, but it would be pretty hard for the devs to implement without any sort of copyright infringement.

That's a good point but I wasn't even thinking about Star Craft when I thought of it, I was actually trying to get in the mind set of what would you do if you could have an alien infiltrate the marines? Try to do the most damage possible, right?

Hmm, what does the spy in Team Fortress do? Maybe it could kinda be like that.

    Hive Queen (100 res)

it's a big ugry spider baby making machine, slow moving

    Ablities:
    Slash: 100 damge

Spawn spiderlings: drops eggs of small spider like creatures which will follow the queen's sent upon hatching and attack any nearby enermy (max 8)

Spawn swarmlings: drop eggs which hatch into small insect flyers which will follow the queen's sent (max 8)

Mark: mark the target/location with a special sent which drives all underlings to attack it or any thing near it's location (marking fades with time)

Infest: spwan a infested egg, which hatches into a parasite. If target is infested it rechives 50 damage every time it is healed, if that creature dies while it is infested, a infested parasite will spawn form it's host's chest and try infest the nearist living non-alien target (it is destoryed upon infestation) if it does not find a host with-in 10 seconds. it dies.

these eggs can be carryed around via 'lerk lift'

There's something strikingly similar to this in sven coop. It's called "big mamma".

It's from HL1 or Opposing Forces.

I'd like to comment on a suggestion involving zombie marines:

    No.

Aliens are biological beings of great strength. Yes. The idea of having "infected" marines that turn into zombies? Why not just call NS2 "Dawn of the Aliens" instead of Dawn of the Dead? If you want zombie marines, I think you should look elsewhere. NS2 isn't a zombie killer. That, and FF servers might have lots of teamkilling issues.

    <u>Conroler</u>
VERY low hp and armor, but his attacks ignory rine armor!
<b>Atk 1: Mind Blast</b>: Shoots electic impulses to the Enemys head doing damage (about 60)
<b>Atk 2: Mind Flay</b>: Hits the enemy with an strong electric impulse, blurring his vision and doing little damage (about 15 - charges up with a sound that pulls attention so its not too strong^)
<b>Atk 3: Mind boost</b>: Uses up the controlers energy to enrage all alien units arround, allowing them to use their abilitys without using their energy for 20 seconds (mayb: as soon as mind boosts time is up, all effected units loose all their energy)
<b>Atk 4: Mind control</b>: Takes control over an enemy unit, the controled unit won't attack his forner allys! (can be used to open a passage that the marines already closed with welder, or to slowly damage marine structures, lookes like a normal rine, the player who played this rine will spawn back in hand can kill himself ^^)

    <u>Spreader</u>
    kinda spreads the infestation <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

That whole controller thing is a little....umm....much.

Mind blast is just cheap. it you get two of these guys together, you can one-shot kill marines.

Mind flay...meh. Just...no. Too easy to make marines bait.

Mind boost would make fades and onoses the cheapest pieces of #$%^ ever.

Mind control...just doesn't seem like it would be fun if you can't shoot allies. And then it would be cheap because you could HMG everyone that spawns.

I think a worm like alien that travels through the infestation would be interesting. It would be more of a defensive alien then offensive.
    <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

yeh that would be quite useful since the only alternative is ocs <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" /> makes defending established hives much easier, although may create a balance issue.
