Van Buren Shots and Video
<div class="IPBDescription">What Could Have Been...</div>About ten screenshots and a video of Van Buren, Black Isle's codename for Fallout 3, were recently put up on <a href="http://www.nma-fallout.com/" target="_blank">No Mutants Allowed</a>. The video along with the music almost brought a tear to my eye...

Yeah, I'm worried how Bethesda is going to handle Fallout 3... They recently opened the forums for the game, though.

If Oblivion is any sign, its in good hands.

I guess there's mixed opinions as far as that is concerned - in the other fallout 3 thread people were moaning about the state of oblivion and it being an example of what's to come. I liked the game, but not enough to completely finish it. Still I agree, I think that the developers understand the pressure to make a good game and I think they can pull it off.

Well, it takes all kinds.
To elaborate, I enjoyed Oblivion a bit. But I don't want Fallout to be like that. I don't consider Oblivion an RPG in the strictest sense. It's more of an action adventure game, to me. Also, it took a few steps back from Morrowind, as far as setting, skills, and other things. I just hope Fallout is isometric. I don't necessarily want SPECIAL, I just want it to be a good CRPG, and not "I saw a mudcrab the other day!"

I don't know about you, but I never finished Oblivion... I stopped playing after 5 days because it just wasn't that great. Morrowind had me addicted, maybe because I was younger than but for me it was more fun just traversing the land rather than completing the main quest.
...the only reason I didn't finish Oblivion is because: my computer was just above the min specs, so it ran slowly; some quests were broken, but I didn't want to patch it, because it takes my computer about 15 minutes to recognize the DVD...which is why I cracked it (you say I shouldn't crack your game? Well screw you I'm not buying it if I need to sit 15 minutes every time I want to start it) and I didn't want to download the patch because I'd need a new one; it's far more fun to explore than to deal with those useless Oblivion portals that lag me up even more (man, my desktop needs a new cpu), and I like installing things, so by the time I was almost done with the quest I had too much new stuff to do <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> .
As long as they don't abstract combat too much, and they keep the witty dialogue and character interaction, it has good potential. This day and age requires the death of many children, lots of sex and extreme violence...we don't need any more of those 2D FO exploding corpses... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
As for the video.... Lots of things were pretty good, but the death animations, they were just terrible <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
As for Morrowind and Oblivion, yes, Morrowind was better than Oblivion, really. Besides the combat, anyway, but I don't usually buy RPG's mainly for combat unless they're solely based on it.
anyone have mirrors?
I was expecting some music from ARMIN Van Buren. I was wrong haha.

some instructions on the tech demo.
My resolution or something is screwed up with the demo; I can barely read any of the text. Anyone else having this problem?
