<div class="IPBDescription">The SimExchange</div>Wow. I actually really like the idea of this, 'cause most prediction market online stuff doesn't have the companies I want to invest in, or the ideas.

See, the game works much like the real stock market- prices go up and down on stocks depending on demand. Where it differs though, is that you're investing in actual games- so this isn't with the real world stocks, but more a prediction market for what games are going to sell well. Each game has a estimated sell amount. Once the game comes out, NPD sales data is followed closely for the game to see if it achieves it's sales goal, and if it begins surpassing, you can be assured the stock price will go up as well.

Go get in it. <a href="http://www.thesimexchange.com/index.php" target="_blank">http://www.thesimexchange.com/index.php</a>

My name is Quaunaut on there, stick me as a friend. Lets compete, etc.

is it a bad sign that, not only do I not understand the stock market, but don't understand a virtual web game based on the stock market? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />

Seems kind of pointless. I mean, it's easy enough just to predict that Madden, The Sims, Pokemon, and all those other kid games are going to sell well. Anyone who follows sales charts for video games knwos that they're pretty predictable either way.

Oh oh oh! I know, I'll invest in Starcraft 2, Diablo 3 and [insert Blizzard next-gen MMO], what did I win?

Its not quite that easy. So you invest in Blizzard. When is a good time to sell? And hitting companies that aren't so obvious is part of it too. Yes, its rather predictable, but then again so is the regular stock market.
