if so, either assign the scripted keys to normal actions, or change to a script friendly server.
Type net_graph 3 in your console while playing and see how the readings go, is the fps jumping up'n'down and is there any loss/choke.
If so, your best bet is to delete every cfg file in your steamfolder. If that doesnt solve it you might need to reinstall. You could also be the victim of slowhacking. Again: delete all configs and make sure you mark them as write-only next time. (Make also sure you dont run hl in dev mode or it will ignore the read-only)
i dont use scripts or hacks...
0 choke, 0 loss with netgraph.
the ping dont go high when i get the big lags.
the problem is, if i see only 1 alien, its okay.
when i see some aliens and buildings or structures (TF, turrets...,OCs who work) the lag is not more a little lag. its a very-big-20sec-lag.
and - i have a brandnew ns-install...
Do you have a wireless keyboard or mouse? I DO and i get this scripting-accusation about 5-10+ times per hour of play.
My belief of what happens is sometimes the computer, Microsoft-wireless-keyboard drivers, get bogged down and it keeps a buffer of all the keys you just pressed...and when it gets free memory...it RUSHES all those keys out real fast to the system which gets detected as a script attempt. Another theory is wireless keyboard signal packet loss and keyboard keeps all the keys internally in the keyboards circuit and when it reconnects, WHOOSH all keys sent in one packet...
If you ever typed in a password or something in some textbox and just typed out 10 keys but theirs a 2 second delay and then WHOOSH all the keys are typed...then you know what i mean.
O YEA almost forget... ingame when your controls start to get lagged out, as part of the message "Scripting is not allowed on this server" is to freeze your controls...causing the lag you feel, Press the CONSOLE KEY!... this will STOP the anti-scripting countermeasures for that instance... stupid anti-script crap never stopped any super fades anyway... its just an annoyance to everyone.

Are you sure? This message is generated by an exception from when the server has mp_blockscripts set to "1", (aka. TRUE).
And by the way... Cheats != Scripts. So we hear you that you aren't cheating/hacking but having multiple binds per command especially if it uses "wait" commands will cause this.
Does that help clear anything up? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
Does the game work properly after you've had the nasty stop and see a building? It might be a precache problem. You might want to try fs_lazy_precache 0 and 1 if it makes any difference. What I've understood it decides whether the game loads up graphics while joining the server or when they're displayed ingame. Default is 0 (precache while joining the game) as far as I know.
Do any other games do the same thing?
Some system info might be useful too.
no

yes.
I am a hacker.
My script makes me say "Medpack" in team chat and notify the commander that i need a medpack...
At the same time!
Yes, it's true.
fear me.

Meh that's nothing. I have one that when I merely hear an enemy it says "alien spotted" aloud and types "I can hear an enemy" in team chat.
