Ya simple idea.
Aliens Versus Marines and Versus Cyborgs in Classic Mode.
The maps with Half-Life 2 engine can be big.
So all is the same like in NS1 classic, except the cyborgs.

They are made by humans to defend and destroy the aliens from Kharaa.
It was bound to happen sooner or later, the cyborgs with there A.I. get awareness and want to live on.
So they build there own living platforms:

If you spawn as SUnit*, you have an interface like aliens.
But you can not morph, you get an animation that looks like you weld yourself.
After this, you spawn as new unit.


Units:

But you cant walk on them!

Jumping on walls and stick on them

That means, this unit can hover over the ground, but aliens can still attack it

So this unit is not fast, but strong.
He can move like a human soldier, but slower.

Attack tech. building [need res, allows youre team to research 1 weapon damage]

if one team dies, the player will divided to the last 2 teams.

    how bout cyborgs went crazy (like in bsg) and you have 3 teams, could be fun <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />
    well, i like the idea of new races (and i actually had them myself, more or less inspired by sci-fi series)

    3 teams in 1 round could cause problems since 2 can stick together and kill the other team then fight against each other, but its also a feature which would allow the best team to lose <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
    would be really mean in clan matches, but on public its probably fun.

    i wouldnt go into detail so much because game balancing will take its time and other people have good ideas too. however its nice that you have made so much work on such an idea and that you have given guidelines others can easily agree too

    i dont know what the engine allows, but if you make really big maps you could also get another team,so you have 4, maybe an alien class which is really weak but has super technologies (balancing will be difficult, I AGREE). this would probably include laser weapons, maybe spytechniques fore marines, tactical pacts with other teams etc. i think this could really be fun <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />

    doesnt mean the game should always have maps with 4 teams, i think the game should have several game modes:
    -classic: alien vs marine
    -combat: alien vs marine
    -adv combat: 3/4 teams on bigger maps
    -adv classic: 3/4 teams in a rts/fps game mode
    -escort maps: 1 team has to achieve certain goals on a map and the other team has to defend it (races are dependant on mapping?)

    so please dont just say this idea is ish because its not like ns is <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    Two things:

    1) Balance - We have enough challenges balancing TSA marine vs Kharaa alien.

    2) Cyborgs - take a look at this. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/marine.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::marine::" border="0" alt="marine.gif" /> Cybernetic Organisms already exist, we've been playing them as the TSA Marine.

    IMHO, this is not a good idea.

    So we have yet another "humans build AI which evolves and free themselves from humans grasp", sounds a bit cliché no?

    TSA use nanites, that should classify marines as cyborgs, minus the robotic replacements. Medpacks heal marines nearly instantly and medpacks are filled with nanites which are micro robots, sounds cyborgic enough.

    Do come up with more 3rd race ideas but think of the backstory.

    All they're saying, in a very sarcastic manner, is that this idea would never be implemented because of the vast amount of changes that would have to be made to the game just to make it balanced. Also, the TSA do not use kevlar, they use nanomachines to do everything; Nanites; 'Cyborgs.'

    Also, all of the gameplay styles have pretty much been covered between the TSA and the aliens. Your wall walker is a skulk, your hover unit is a gimped lerk, your destroyer is a super overpowered walker marine with an HMG and cybernetic katanas coming out of his ######.

    Your ideas need to be 'smaller.' Suggesting a new weapon or building or equipment or alien (alien where the role has not been filled) is fine, but suggesting an entire new race with all its own buildings, units, weapons, <b>tech tree unique and specific from aliens and marines,</b> its too much.

    Yeah, umm, about that whole cyborg thing...No.

    Two sides are hard enough to balance if well-diversified from each other. Both sides are well-diversified as is. Adding another side would mean complete map overhauls, having to add more space, more res, and have to change the feel of the maps in general to incorperate a third race. Please read the post above as well. I think that the whole idea of cyborgs vs. humans needs to stick with something like Star Trek, or simply be in another game.
