I reelly think we should expand the weapons of both sides.
As for marines:
Some type of flamethrower.. High damage, lots of ammo, very long reload time, short range.
Some type of sniper rifle (Ive been pummled by people in game saying that would make life easier)
Some Type of laser, plasma, or enegy weapon....(Very high damage. Realtively same amount of ammmo as pistol, low rate of fire, avg, reload time)
-mke i so you can reload your Regular hand grenades at the armory.
-
Buildings-
.( i beleive there should be an option when you build a protolab that it can be set to auto spawn jetpacks and heavy armor)
-(Same goes for certain guns)
-(Plasma and Flamethrowers should also be researched form the protolab)
-Make an even bettetr turret... make them interchaneable with all the guns minus sniper rifles...
(Lol, Flamethrower turret)
As for the aliens..
A type of alien that has a rapid fire ranged attack... say using barbed spines.
-Make gorges meatier, more heath. increase range and trajectory of bile bombs.
-Onos....... Remove the nipples... they disturb me o.o....
-Lerk ( Nerf the damge of spore cloud by two, increase the AOE)
-more gibbs please!
-All Alien buildings should do xenocide when destroyed, doing damge( makes knifign res towers a little more complicated)
(Make it so that there is a type of pg for aliens... moving back to the hive isnt enough.....)

on topic, alien weapons are fine, marines just need something a bit more original than 2 machine guns, a shotgun and a gren gun. even a flamethrow (hardly original in itself) would do. but no sniper rifles plz
Who knows, maybe it's a sniper rifle that can shoot through walls which only contains one bullet, and does enough damage to get a skulk to 2 or so health. Why assume anything at this point in time?
Also goldenprize bunnyhopping has been called an important part of the game by the devs and your sig requires me to be skeptical of anything and everything you say.

How are you even supposed to kill ANYTHING with a sniper rifle?
Also, it doesn't fit into the concept of NS. We fight in tight corridors and bases. Sniper Rifles are used in huge open areas?

The gorge is already a killing machine, which its not really supposed to be. they are still hard for new players to kill, and shouldn't be buffed even more.

But as there are no outside areas, then its not a very good idea.
I can't imagine even trying to hit a skulk - unless the sniper rifle had somekind of motion tracking like the smart guns from aliens - the player would just then have to time their shots - but in doors you would have to be crazy to look through a scope as something would just bite you in the butt <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
U very easy can change the gamebalance.
At the first example, give Marines big weapons, and make the gorge meatier would give the aliens a big advantage in the beginning.
Remember how hard it is sometimes to kill a gorge, and these big weapons would not be avaible in the beginning of a game, would they?
And i think a flamethrower is way to exorbitant.
I think its also a bit "old-fashiont", what a about a kind of laser weapon where u can push/blow an alien onto the wall?
What about these weapons in Ghostbusters... ?

As for the instant spawing of Jps and Ha, Comms are usually tassled down at extreme moments to spawn weapons and armor for marines.( I KNOW THIS IS A CRITICAL PART OF THE GAME. And it is somewhat fun)
say jps spawn to the left and HA to the right of it. Itll be an option on the Proto lab to auto spawn.
Ditto that idea to guns.... maybe fir artwork.. the armory can be set to suto spawn certain guns.. and it has holsters on it.. possible where the guns will spwan
the sniper rifle should be able to shoot through two solid objects, then stop. It becomes useful when MT is online.
And as for lasers being stupid, why not? why would you NOT want a freaking laser?! Their Freaking lasers man!

You need to understand! Ultra-high velocity weapons such as high powered rifles or even railguns would NOT be adviseable to use in cramped environments, ESPEACIALLY spaceships!!!!
If you had lazery weapons punching through bulkheads and hulls it would be physics... not aliens... that would kill the marines. obviously these environments are well engineered and hardy if they can withstand siege weaponary and grenades.... but lasers are way to over the top... why the hell.. even in the distant future would people use lasers? Guns are so much simpler! And have proven themselves already

yes
it is really dumb that the marines have this incredibly advanced technology, like jetpacks and teleportation, but are stuck with conventional cartridge-type weapons that have been around for 1000s of years. laser/plasma type weapons would not be out of place, as long as the devs balanced them. i do like the flamethrower idea a lot as well
and i have been wishing we could restock the hand nades at the armory since the introduction of them

TAMPONS! (aka, the NS hand grenade)
I mean seriously, when you talk about making it harder for marines to just rampage through vents this would be the perfect balancing factor. Gorge camping the vent? It should be fairly expensive though, a LATE tech tree item.
Don't get me wrong, I like marines in NS using the nitty-gritty feel of classic bullets and shells, but alternative energy ammo is a great idea.
And for the Kharaa?
How about resistances to certain types of damages?
piercing resistance (bullets)
cold resistance (cold areas in maps, cold weapons?)
heat resistance (flamethrower counter?)
sonic resistance (meaning the splash damage from explosives, the shockwave blast)
energy resistance (electrified structures, energy weapons)
How about that? I could be applied to units mainly, but what about structures too? It would add some cool strategic complexity to the game.
as of right now, the current weapons dont fit in with the atmosphere of the game-- the marines have incredibly advanced technology like instant teleportation and jetpacks, but they are using conventional rifles and shotguns as weapons? you would expect them to have way more advanced weaponry...
just doesnt fit in my opinion....

I really don't agree. It feels so much more brutal, fierce and hardcore to have near-tradtional weaponry instead of lazers and plasmas shooting beams of silly damage. Though the flamethrower goes in the first.

Probably have to lessen range though cause youd get the whole thing of rines killin hive from across map."
Perhaps limit it to one person to wield it? Make it have a really slow reload and you got another reason to teamplay. Fireing through walls needs tweaking tho, else he would spawn kill alot of skulks when they show up on MT.
