New Marine Structures

CanadianWolverine posted a really cool idea that required it's own topic to do the subject justice. Just like Mr. T I always do things for justice.
The idea behind an AI lab that has upgrades and opens up a new item is amazing - pure and simple. The upgrades the AI lab would offer include Intel, which would tell you the aliens exact health, exact distance, and seconds before it reached you. Also included is marking, the marines version of parasite - this ability requires you to shoot the target with any weapon at least once, once marked it would relay where the alien is and interact with the ability intel (speed, health, creature, distance). Lastly, an item named intelligence protection (need a new name, can't say "com i need a new IP please,”) that reduces the distance Scent of fear, sensory chambers, and parasite alerts aliens; this device also creates white noise that reduces your footstep sound, but can't remove it.

The biggest one of these is the user interface. How much damage you've taken, what structures are getting hit, and so much more. Some servers even remove motion tracking in their games, just because it affects the game that much. Information is one the high points of being a marine. Kharaa do the same things but with a much more organic feel, much like they are taking over the mechanical feel of most maps, rather than "hacking" it like the marines seem to.
But just like Radix so kindly points out, it also has the possibility of have applications in robotics. Perhaps research on scouts, "man hacks", or any number of other conceivable constructs built from nanite technology.
An "AI Lab" could very well be both. A way of improving communications, intel gathering, and much more. Of course, the Kharaa's spreading infestation might harm the map's systems, making hacking of null functional programs a fruitless endeavor...
Other marine structures could be:
- building blocks: bridge gaps, close up walls, repair systems...
-- man'ed defenses: hardened weapon emplacements, bunkers, sandbags...
- advance prototype weapons and armor
- bio mech research
- bio warfare research
- integrated spawn & armory
- repair & maintenance station
- resource refinement & storage
- robotic factory
- tesla lab (Why stop at electrifying turret factories and resource collectors?)
What other possible structures might the TSA finally be willing to invest (and not cheap!) in to see their marines push the Kharaa back from their installations?
