<div class="IPBDescription">It's getting worse!</div>So, lately I have been getting some wierd graphical artifacts all over the screen. They change position and are not like static spots on the monitor. What is going on?
Sometimes they are even on the boot up image. (right when I start the computer, it says the name of the fabricator of the motherboard or sumthn')
Hope nothing fried.

weird. I'm not a techie, but the first thing I would do is wiggle my wires, like the one that connects the monitor to the vid card. also, maybe degauss the monitor?

I'm going to guess it's your video card. If you can capture it on a screenshot, it's not your monitor. Try, in any order:

    - updating your video drivers
    - hooking up another monitor and see if it does it
    - make sure the PC is getting enough airflow (ie: a fan isn't dead inside), could be an overheating issue
    - check all cable connections, like mentioned already

Wait, is that a screen cap?

If it is a screenshot it has nothing do do with your monitor.

So it comes down to graphic card and/or drivers.

Edit: arg, since when can Comrpox post that quickly?

I would like to point this out:

    It isn't your moniter.

If they show up in screen caps, then it is the videocard in some way shape or form. Btw, I only see blue with like 3 green dots, no red ones... but what ever...

Have you tried running off of onboard video?

and I tihnk comprox might have a good idea with checkign Heat.....

for a quick test try moving the box away from everytihng else, cleanign it out, and possibly even pullign the dies and placing a box fan directly at it.....

    Or just download some good heat testing programs <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    Updated:
I have tried updating my drivers, to newest. I have a nvidia 7900 GT from club 3d. Worked perfectly, till this started happening.

I have tried a couple of things, and I have opened the cabinet to get some airflow, I even have a fan blowing on it.

    - I might have clocked it a bit, but nothing much. The card is able to clock much higher/faster, and 'is underclocked now.

    - I have a 400 watt psu, should be enough for my comp to smoothly right.

When scrolling down the forums I notice that the pixels "dublicate" downwards, creating spread rows of dots.

All I can think of right now...

Dudes I realize it's not my monitor. Thanks though.

Heat could be the issue, since it only really started this summer? Hmm.
Iam not ruling it to be the cause, but might be.

Without extra office fan. Window open: Idle: 53 degrees C.
With extra office fan (10 min). Window open: Idle: 49 - 50 degrees C.
    Might be the issue.

Iam using nvidias tool to check the heat, but I have no idea what program I should use to log it, so that I can run some tests ingame and such.
Might be me, but amount of pixels seem to reduce when 3-4 degrees drop.

<!--coloro:#CC0000--><span style="color:#CC0000"><!--/coloro-->Update:<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> Temperature lowered to 46 C after I placed the cabinet fan a slot lower, and cleaned some dust out of the Graphic cards own fan.
    fewer dots.

I was the one who suggested it might be your monitor, but in my defense, I said that before you included the screen cap <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

Sounds like you got some buggy hardware or you've started burning it out.

I used to get white and red dots in graphic-intensive games... with my OLD video card. Some time later it broke. I assume it was because of overheating

I don't know what happend, they are all gone...!?
Might have been the cleaning of the card or something.
    thanks for convincing me,.

Overheating is the most likely cause as long as you've checked cabling etc.
