Wow. I was already gonna be getting this tomorrow afternoon, but some of the things I'm seeing are insane.
See, the game came out in Japan on the 24th. Already, they've done these paint jobs:

Wowie.
And check out this feature list- its even better than Halo's, in terms of stat tracking.<ul><li>Take pictures of your car ingame, and download them off of the Forza website</li><li>Auction off your car- both from ingame and from the site!</li><li>Create the above skins(for free), and then mass produce them- which may get you credits from people buying the skin(which then cannot be edited, so no one can steal your work)</li><li>Extensive stat tracking. Race wins, losses, etc. Probably more, but I haven't had a chance to check it out yet.</li><li>Tournaments for real. These will go so you can get credits ingame, not just to prove skill(though that certainly helps I bet)</li><li>Online leaderboards for best times on races.</li></ul>See, the thing about Forza that really nails me on the head, is that it almost looks like its an MMO like that Need For Speed thing a few years back that bombed real fast- except its just fused with a Live account, which is pretty awesome. Getting money for winning/performing well, then tricking out your car/buying cars, just seems too good to be true along with real multiplayer racing.
Anyone else grabbing it? And once again, my Gamertag is Quaunaut.

Oh: And MP racing in this is insanely fun. Seriously. SP feels so drab once you go online, and hell, online, people are nicer too. Its not uncommon to be in a race, have someone accidentally bump you, and hear them go "Sorry!", or for someone to warn you "I'm coming up your left side", so you can pass(or be an ###### and get in their way).
Man, I'm lovin' it.
It was still pretty fun, and it's the first game that actually taught me to brake a decent distance from curves when going 150mph (the only other racing 'simulation' game I'd played was Gran Turismo 2, and you can just gun anything around a corner in that - driving licenses, pffft, what a joke). I'm disappointed that crap cars never get put in these games, what if I want to trick out a 'leet' 1996 Ford Contour, or a 1985 Buick LeSabre or even the dreaded 1989 Chevrolet Beretta...or perhaps even the Smart Fortwo (E-Class? hah). Like everyone wants to drive around in Vipers and Lamborghini...
If you have it already, perhaps you could tell me if the reflections flicker on the cars - I've heard they're tun at 30fps instead of the game's 60...and in the first Forza they sometimes got annoying.
There were also cool skins in the original Forza, people took the painstaking time to create intricate details from the basic shapes and 100 layers offered (...I just made flaming skulls and crap, because I just don't have that kind of time)...

I believe the latest GT game had the Element or Scion in it. I raced my buddy in that while he drove backwards in another car and he still won.
They have plenty of weaker cars in this, but some you mentioned aren't there. The devs don't determine this- the car companies do, and they don't want people being reminded of weak cars from them.
I've always wanted to <strike>drive</strike><i>Burn</i> an azumanga car.

A bit has changed since then, but for the uglier- I've got a racing spoiler and front end, they aren't exactly flattering. Oh, and a carbon fiber hood. That doesn't help either.
Also, did they keep the cool difficulty modifiers? Like, you could turn off ABS and TCS and turn on full damage and get a sweet credit boost, or turn off the driving line and drop down damage or something.
But I saw one <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
Why haven't I seen a Fade or Skulk (or Gorge) paintjob yet?

Yep, they kept 'em- and that driveline has been improved: There is a mode for just Braking, instead of full or none.
So hows painting work in forza 2? Can you import from your PC (oh man i could make some sick stuff)
Also it needs more red turtle shells.
I'm actually gonna buy a 360 next pay check JUST for this game. I loved the first one, spent hours painting my cars. Plus i need one for when halo 3 comes out <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

No, its the same as it was before- but instead of a 600 layer limit, its now 4,000.
And Doom: I think I'm gonna get a Volkswagon Beetle just to make it look like a red turtle shell, and spend races running into people.
