Question for the networking wizzes..

<div class="IPBDescription">HALp</div>I'm away from home, but my computer semi-literate family wants me to go through the old computer (still runs well, a 2.4 with 1gb ram and a radeon x800) and clean it up (make space etc)..

Is there any way to remotely manipulate the directory of that computer back home, from my computer here?

if it's XP Pro, it should have Remote Desktop, else it should have Remote Assistance. both of them are annoying to get working. <a href="http://www.realvnc.com/products/free/4.1/download.html" target="_blank">vnc</a> will work if you want full remote access or you could install an ftp server if you just want filesystem access.

meh, screw realvnc. It is more troublesome than benefitial.

Use <a href="http://www.uvnc.com/index.html" target="_blank">http://www.uvnc.com/index.html</a> instead !
