I just watched the HD version. Pretty awesome, although to be honest if they had screwed this up I would have been really mad since it's not too tough just to make a freaking teaser trailer.
My hype meter must be broken, I didn't know it could go into the negatives... The SC2 CG video got me more hyped then this video did. They could at least show me a nuclear explosion or something.
Fail for using quicktime though I found a youtube link. I never played Fallout "/me puts up flame shield" but seeing how they were very popular games I'll have to keep an eye on this one to see what it is like.
Thankyou, but can I have my two minutes back please? I thought it might be better than just a very badly thought out tech demo <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

Yep. It's not gameplay, but it is rendered ingame.
Yowch, a lot of people going "useless trailer" or "didn't tell my anything" or something. Honestly nobody forced you to watch it. It's just to set the mood, not to reveal everything a year and a half before the game comes out.

A teaser is supposed to tease me. Give me a taste, a try, a craving, anything other than basically being bored.
I mean, when I was more entertained by the lettering saying Fallout 3 turning to Fall(and hoping it said 07), your trailer sucks.
Teaser trailers that do their job better:

I don't mean to bash it into the ground, but honestly, that wasn't a teaser trailer as much as a tech demo that didn't show off anything even there. Hell, I think I HAVE seen Tech Demos do better.
I'm not saying the game is gonna suck(its probably gonna rock), but that trailer was horrendously bad. Luckily, Bethesda is known for making bad trailers but awesome games.
Look, it's an homage to the original Fallout, from the camera angles to the quote at the end. If that didn't tease you you're probably not the kind of person who cares alot about really early teaser Fallout media in any case. Normal people can just look at screenshots and trailers when it gets closer to release. This kind of thing is for fans.

I AM a fan. I've seen those camera angles before, the music style, the neat posters that are always entertaining. But that alone I don't think entices anyone but those who live and die with the series.
It's true that there's nothing that exciting about it, except that Bethseda knows what camera angles should look like in Fallout FMV. Not too excited about Bethseda taking it over, anyway. I just can't see them doing an FPS Fallout right. Though I heard STALKER was alright.
Its got "I don't want to set the world on fire" and the "War, War never changes" line. I get the feeling that this teaser is more about telling the fans that Bethesda cares about the series' roots and not much more.

Interplay has the right for mmo. But if it doesent happen in the next years, Beth will gain the rights. That was in their special contract. Or something like that. So it definatly may happen ftl.

I think it is perfect, as a tease. Brought back memories to hear that music and see those scenes. It's sort of a homage to the tradition more than an exposé of what is to come. They have plenty time to do proper teaser trailers.
I reinstalled fallout1 recently, but it doesn't render properly on my system. Pity, as I'd like to play through both fallouts at a leisurely pace over the next 18+ months while waiting for the game.

So, we know the game has a fairly new, but not spectacular, engine, and that it comes out in Fall '08.
Fallout is a wonderful franchise and all, but I'm pretty sure a fan could've made this film just as easily, with what they know.
youtube link anyone?
Has anybody said this was rendered in-engine?

Oh dear god I hope it is like Oblivion in a different setting.

I don't really care.
Supposively 2008, that's the word from AOTS.

I know, it says it at the end even. I just WANTED it to say 07.
