Wow, the environment and art deco style looks immersing. This game has a good feel to it.
Inventory like in Deus Ex is cool (have only tried demo of SS2), but it works because Deus Ex is sort of a mix of FPS and RPG. Bioshock doesn't look to have so many RPG elements to it, except the plasmids, but they look like they can be changed at these "stations", so they don't become a lasting part of your character, unlike RPGish games. And this game seems to be about immersion in your environment, not about character building. We'll see.
The Plasmids seem like the force abilities in the Jedi Knight games.
By the way, is there any special reason we initially would expect inventory in Bioshock? Is Irrational Games in anyway related to System Shock 2? I thought System Shock 2 was a Warren Spector game like Deus Ex.

to further this: It is actualy being made by a number of the peopel that made SS2, however Looking glass now owns the rights to SS, so they could not make SS2, however they are free to make a new game in the same genre (FPS/RPG/Survival horror/data pads/implants/etce tc etc), so long as it was obvious they were not using any of the thigns from SS (shodan, the many, etc etc)

I don't think there'd really be room for a System Shock 3 anyway. Shodan kinda grew stale. Yes Shodan, your impotent insults are very quaint. If you're so godlike, how come you don't fry me with lightning?
Seriously. Shodan was a great antagonist, but all in all she talked the talk but didn't walk the walk.

OT: When the people who own copyright to the lore have to come out and say 'If you're a fan of this, you probably might want to maybe not get too involved with the game' in a style that says 'Warning: Your lore has been raped' then you know it's going downhill.
That's what happened to Shadowrun, which has absolutely ZERO to do with 'Shadowrun'. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

Which I actually think is a lot better than the game having a whole bunch to do with Shadowrun, but screwing it up really badly. I mean when all they use is the name, they're not screwing it up at all. It has nothing to do with Shadowrun and all it means is that some marketing dude thought the name sounded good.
On the other hand, if they actually TRIED to make a Shadowrun game, but screwed it up horribly and did an awful job, that would be painful for the fans of the actual game.

It kinda sucked as far as we got:
Them: HAY GUYS! THERE IS GHONA BE AN SR GAME!!!! Us: YAAAAY!!!!
Much Later
Them: So here is the first hands on and here is what them game is gona be like. Us: WTH does this have to do with SR?
I loved the shadowrun SNES and Genesis games back in the day, for different reasons... I cannot speak to how 'shadowrunny' they are, as I've never played the pen and paper RPG.
