<div class="IPBDescription">Please help me D:</div>So I come home today and the computer's very quiet. The speaker volume knob is normal, the sound is turned all the way up in the Control Panel "sounds and audo devices" thing, and that's pretty much it. I can't imagine what's changed. Everything from games to Winamp to stuff embedded in my browser is a lot softer. What the heck happened?

    Check your connections, try headphones to see if its a speaker problem, check the 'advanced' button in your sound & devices volume section (maybe your wav volume has been turned down somehow?)

    Headphones have the same problem. I went to "advanced" and that didn't work. Connections look fine.

    Edit: And holy crap suddenly it works. I didn't do a goshdarn thing but there you go.

    I wonder if Vista pulls this kind of stuff.

    Make sure your headphones are plugged in all the way & try different speakers and see how they sound (could be a bad connection in the wires)

    My friend who has vista (Well... I guess that makes him not a friend... technically.) says that each program has a separate sound channels.

    Yeah they redid the entire audio portion of the OS for Vista. It's one of the biggest changes.

    I wonder if this has something to do with how my sound randomly moves halfway to the right so I have to adjust the L-R slider for WAVE sound.

    Whatever happens to your speaker sound, doesn't you fan still make noise? Don't tell me you have one of those silent girly fans, or watercooling or something.

    Who needs speaker sound if you got a powerful enough fan. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tiny.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::onos::" border="0" alt="tiny.gif" />

    i got watercooling, you'll have more fans with that than a air-cooled case because of the radiator. Sounds like my computer could take off the ground at any moment right now XD
