Yeah, voting out inactive people is kind of an interesting topic. The way I see it, someone that is completely inactive is just as likely to be a wolf as anyone else. Since we don't have any leads on who could be a wolf (no one has voiced any, at any rate), today's death is going to be random. If you're going to kill someone at random, it might as well be someone that isn't participating in the game.
That said, I've talked to doomchica over AIM a couple of times and pointed her toward the game thread, and she's even been in the IRC channel and said some things unrelated to the game, but no posts.

It was a cozy place yet sparse place, a simple table that was bolted into the trailer, and several shelves and cupboards on the side. It even sports a typical fridge found normally in these trailers. But one thing was unusual; there was a massive stainless steel safe at the back of the trailer, almost something a bank would have in a movie. <b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Nightstalker<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> and <b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->TheFenix<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> are already there with <b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Ana<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b>, looking intently at the safe as they type in several commands into the computer embedded into the safe. <b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Petco<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> nods. “Yes. We have no way to turn off the field.”
Hidden at one of the vendor booths is <b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Doomchica<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b>. Earlier she was in searching group for finding the spikes, but now after hearing and seeing the dreadful news, she quickly retreat back to her home: the booth. She always found it nice to sit in there, and watch the customers come and lose all their money. She chuckles silently to herself as the stench and fear of death slowly evaporates. “Maybe things will be better; maybe it was just a freak accident,” she thought.
She suddenly shrieks as she gets pulled behind by the shoulders. Someone behind her wrap his or her arms around <b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Doomchica<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b>, as he or she whispers, “Shhh shhh shhh, it’s alright. All will be well.”
Instead, she screams and tries to kick the person between the legs. The person falls down with her, and <b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Doomchica<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> tries to untangle herself, but the person was quicker. <b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Doomchica<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b>’s eyes widen as something small yet strong wraps around her neck. As she is gasping for breath, the attacker bashes her head against the ground, making her go limp into unconsciousness.
Taking a few breaths, the person whispers back at <b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Doomchica<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b>, “So you resisted. No matter, all will still be well.”
<b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Soul Rider<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> scampers around the circus, looking at everything, and everyone. He tries to get ahold of seeing where everyone is at, and what he or she is doing. As he approaches the vendor booths, he notices a dark figure walking out of a booth, and then walking away. Curious, he walks into the booth where the dark figure came.
He enters in just to see <b><!--coloro:#ff0000--><span style="color:#ff0000"><!--/coloro-->Doomchica<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> laying there, pinned against the wall on the dartboard. While none of the darts have pierce her skin, they seem to put into the dartboard deep enough to support her weight. Deep into her neck, however, is another lerk spike, slightly bigger than the ones that were in Imma.
<b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Soul Rider<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> screeches, pointing to the figure, and then scampers quickly away to find someone.

Well, Isamil was wolfed, an interesting target.
I was almost certain he was human, but why did he get wolfed last night?
Sure he was an experienced player, but there are many of those in this game, so why Isamil?
From the very little he gave away in our short discussions, I would guess he didn't slip up to anyone about a role or anything, but then there are probably people out there much better at getting and piecing together information than me, so that is by no means certain.
He didn't appear to be overly active, or overly inactive, so no real clues from that.
Voted for Eternaly_lost in the first day, his only day, may or may not be significant.
Overall other than being experienced, I can't see why he was wolfed. But if that's the case we have a lot of other experienced players in the game:
Current players: 1. Eternaly_Lost [Magician] - Experienced Player 2. Soul Rider [Trained Monkey] - 2nd Game 3. Im lost [Tightrope walker] - Experienced Player 4. Xentor [Fire breather] - Experienced Player 5. Nightstalker [Security] - Sorry, don't know, unable to check as at work, only got a couple of minutes.. 6. Faskalia [RingMaster] - see above..... 7. Thansal [Strong man] - See above.. 8. doomchica [Small Booth Vendor] - Definitely played a couple of games, but now lynched 9. Kassinger [Giftshop Vendor] - unknown 10. Petco [Security] - Experienced Player 11. Isamil [Clown] - Experienced Player - Wolfed 12. Ana [Blind Costume Designer] - Definitely played a couple of games 13. TheFeniX [Security] - 1st game
Sorry this is a bit rushed so not exactly the clearest or most well backed up information table, but hopefully it will provoke at last some discussion.
As for votes i'm holding off for now, no clear idea of who to vote for.
Its my 2nd game on this board, so more or less newbie <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />
But I intend to keep a low profile in order to avoid getting lynched 3 times in a row, like last game. URG!
Ok, was going to post this earlier today, but the forums weren't cooperating...
Got a message last night... Don't know if any of you got it too, or if it was just to me. The forensic specialist (Apparently we have one) claims that he/she checked doomchica, and that she was a normal human.

TBH, it isn't surprising that doomchica was human, disappointing, but not overly surprising.
So, we have THREE votes on Kassinger already....
I mean, voting out inactive is sorta ok in my book. They are not participating, and it is more fair to those players that ARE active. However, it is probably just helping out wolves (like it did yesterday). I know, I know, I was one of the ones that voted for doomchica. However, I was also the first one that voted for her, and just had nothing to go on for a switch.
BTW, Faskalia, any chance of an explanation of what your reasoning is? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

Not really, there is a slim chance of killing a wolf off in the first 2 or even 3 days without any real information. If we try to vote off of a real wolf, then wolves could just vote against the other person voting.
Voting off an inactive human is better than voting off an active human.
It's always better to vote off an inactive person rather than a likely active human. The only case that it isn't good to vote off an inactive person is if humans have knowledge of who is a wolf.
ThansalThe New ScumJoin Date: 2002-08-22Member: 1215Members, Constellation
I agree, it is better to vote off an inactive human then an active one.
However it is better yet to vote off a wolf.
I agree to some respect that wolves will likely do some amount of piling on to save a fellow wolf, but that at least provides us with some INFO!
Just voting for an inactive is basically a safe vote. No one will suspect other motives, and even if you do suspect some one of ulterior motives, it is next to impossible to prove it.
ninja addendum
no vote for now.
I will be around almost all of tomorrow when I am not building my new computer <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

Voting off an inactive player is fine as far as i'm concerned, but when i say inactive I mean someone like doomchica or kassinger who have not posted or contributed in any way towards this game. If someone is posting but not saying much, they are not an inactive. That's the bit i don't like.
Inactive players can be anyone. From human to wolf, to special role. But the fact is while they are inactive, they are helping no-one.
That said we have 4 votes on kassinger already (6 required for instalynch) and still over a day left, so please hold off the instalynch for a bit, give the people time to build more evidence.
A fast paced game is to the benefit of the wolves remember. Humans need as much time as is possible.
I myself will not vote yet. But i will have to vote 13hours BEFORE the end of the day as I am going to a wedding, and will be back about halfway through the following game night, so don't think i've suddenly legged it...
Soul_RiderMod BeanJoin Date: 2004-06-19Member: 29388Members, Constellation, Squad Five Blue
Ok, i've been doing some thinking about this instalynch thing and for me personally it would actually be better for the instalynch to occur ASAP.
My reasoning is simple.
This game really moves on at night time, that's when the fresh information starts to pour out. If we let this day end normally I will miss the last 13hours of the day and almost half the night.
I know we only instalynch a confirmed wolf, and we are all pretty sure that kassinger is just an inactive player, but for me lynching him now would mean I am around for the first half of the night, and that's where the fun really happens.
Because of my personal situation i am going to vote for <b>Kassinger</b> and go for the instalynch.
If you have any issues with this, then please let me know, but I weighed it up, a few extra hours for an inactive, against better quality game time for me... and guess what, i picked me!!

A wolf tricked fenix into revealing his role, which was important enough to get him killed.

I don't really like voting off some one just b/c of inactivity. It tends to help wolves (though not always, 2 games ago it helped humans).

He quickly takes a banana and happily eats, and then tilts his head. He hears another group of people nearby, so he hops on to the roof and scrambles over to them.

“Murder. There’s no doubt about it.”
<b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Thansal<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> eyes <b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Xentor<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> as he leans on his ‘Sasha’ prop. “How can you be so sure?”
“We all looked at the wound. There’s no way the spikes impale him deeply to bleed himself to death. And he wouldn’t go around searching for the spikes with his neck expose to ‘accidently’ get hit by them. There’s no way.” <b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Xentor<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> folds his hands, looking slightly disturbed. “And if there’s a murder, there’s a murderer.”
<b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->im lost<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> holds up one finger. “We don’t know if it is an accident or not. <b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Faskalia<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> nods, agreeing with <b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->im lost<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b>. “I recall when he handle them earlier, he usually use gloves in case they had some acidic residue.”
<b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Xentor<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> shakes his head and says, “That still doesn’t explain why the spikes were poking out of his neck! There’s got to be a murderer around here, and I’m going to find out who.”

<b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Petco<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> lead <b><!--coloro:#ffff00--><span style="color:#ffff00"><!--/coloro-->Don<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> and <b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Eternaly_lost<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> into the backend of the manager trailer, where the last boss dwells. Each time, the computer screen goes red with a buzzing noise and resets itself.
<b><!--coloro:#ffff00--><span style="color:#ffff00"><!--/coloro-->Don<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> raises an eyebrow as points to the trio. “What is that? And what are they doing?”
<b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Petco<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> explains, “That is the safe that stores most of our paycheck and controller to the field generator. Unfortunately, none of us knows the code, so they’re trying crack it with <b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Ana<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b>’s help. Doesn’t look like they’re succeeding.”
<b><!--coloro:#ffff00--><span style="color:#ffff00"><!--/coloro-->Don<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> turns to <b><!--coloro:#33ff33--><span style="color:#33ff33"><!--/coloro-->Petco<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b>. “Controller? Then what’s the device outside? Just a monitor of the field?”

Day 2 will end Thursday, 8pm PST.
AGAIN, a few players did not send me a PM of their room choice. These players are now snuffed inside the fridge at the managers' trailer. They do not count in any other room (except manager trailer if they so happen to get killed before Day 3).
Current players:
1. Eternaly_Lost [Magician] - Experienced Player
2. Soul Rider [Trained Monkey] - 2nd Game
3. Im lost [Tightrope walker] - Experienced Player
4. Xentor [Fire breather] - Experienced Player
5. Nightstalker [Security] - Sorry, don't know, unable to check as at work, only got a couple of minutes..
6. Faskalia [RingMaster] - see above.....
7. Thansal [Strong man] - See above..
8. doomchica [Small Booth Vendor] - Definitely played a couple of games, but now lynched
9. Kassinger [Giftshop Vendor] - unknown
10. Petco [Security] - Experienced Player
11. Isamil [Clown] - Experienced Player - Wolfed
12. Ana [Blind Costume Designer] - Definitely played a couple of games
13. TheFeniX [Security] - 1st game
Sorry this is a bit rushed so not exactly the clearest or most well backed up information table, but hopefully it will provoke at last some discussion.
As for votes i'm holding off for now, no clear idea of who to vote for.
But I intend to keep a low profile in order to avoid getting lynched 3 times in a row, like last game. URG!
reasons pending...
Got a message last night... Don't know if any of you got it too, or if it was just to me. The forensic specialist (Apparently we have one) claims that he/she checked doomchica, and that she was a normal human.
Ok, was going to post this earlier today, but the forums weren't cooperating...

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Well, it is good that we now have some one with the scalpel.
Oh well.
I am not placing a vote for now.
Votes stand at:
Kassinger (3) - Nightstalker, TheFeniX, im_lost
im_lost (1) - Faskalia
BTW, Faskalia, any chance of an explanation of what your reasoning is? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
Is instalynch at 6 votes?
Is instalynch at 6 votes?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Yes
Not really, there is a slim chance of killing a wolf off in the first 2 or even 3 days without any real information. If we try to vote off of a real wolf, then wolves could just vote against the other person voting.
Voting off an inactive human is better than voting off an active human.
It's always better to vote off an inactive person rather than a likely active human. The only case that it isn't good to vote off an inactive person is if humans have knowledge of who is a wolf.
For now, I'll vote for <b>Kassinger</b>.

Kassinger (4) - Nightstalker, TheFeniX, im_lost, Petco

I myself will not vote yet. But i will have to vote 13hours BEFORE the end of the day as I am going to a wedding, and will be back about halfway through the following game night, so don't think i've suddenly legged it...
Votes stand at:
Kassinger (5) - Nightstalker, im_lost, Petco, Soul_Rider, TheFeniX
im_lost (1) - Faskalia
Based on the IRC discussion, <b>Kassinger</b> is still looking like the best choice.

So, the wolves went from killing one of the most experienced people here to killing the least experienced player. Any theories?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
A wolf tricked fenix into revealing his role, which was important enough to get him killed.
