Mobile CPU Benchmarks

I'm planning to buy a new laptop, but I need to know how different CPUs compare. So I was wondering if anyone can pinpoint me to a site (Credible such as Tom's hardware and recent) that compares all models of mobile CPUs of both Intel and AMD.

I found this: <a href="http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/02/27/dual_core_notebook_cpus_explored/" target="_blank">link</a>

But it seems to be a bit dated (from Feb. 2007)

Edit #1: Actually I also need mobile GPU comparisons.

Go intel dual core for now, their pretty fast. Also find one with the geforce 7800 or 7600 if your going for a well rounded computer.

Yea, I was already leaning towards the Core 2 Duo because of positive reviews I hear from everyone. Just don't know much of AMD's CPU and now GPU lineup (since they bought out ATI). I was also considering putting a 8600M GT into the laptop for a sole reason of DX10, plus it has 256 MB video ram and I think it is overall roughly equivalent to the half the power of a 7900GTX (have it in my current desktop) which is quite impressive for a laptop.

The 8600 is pretty much worse in most benchmarks when comparing against a 7900GTX or similar card. Trying to find a up to date benchmark with a 7900 GTX is difficult so I compared it to a 1900xt which is similar.

There may be a few games they perform similar but for the most part it is worse. Its DX10 performance is useless and its imo that you dont buy it due to its DX10 support.

Looking at that laptop specs, the 8600 will die if you run at the native res of your laptop.

Why, what's wrong with 8600GT? I thought they were moderately good? I mean for a laptop at least.

Considering the choices, a 8600 might be ok. There are better options if you are willing to spend more. I think alienware had a laptop with a 7900gtx for 1600.

    I did find this website

Cant find it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" /> I might have misread it since the only one I can find has a 7900GS. I swear it said GTX though...

Did find this comparison. The only gaming benchmark is 3dmark which isnt to relevant.

Not much in game benchmarks but its all I could find that compared so many products. You can sometimes google the CPUs and find more detailed reviews.

According to that website the 8700 GT compares nice to dual core/sli gpus. It ranks second (Quadro FX 3500M is first) of all the single core gpus. So waiting for a laptop to get that card may be a wise choice.
